Why would it not be? The only restrictions are steel or other penetrator core, or sometimes just steel jacketed. If the bullet does not attract a magnet, you are ok.

Have fun at Rockcastle.

Thanks.

I only ask because i was informed that hand loads are not allowed and i wasn't sure how they would class re manufactured.

I suppose I should ask, which match at Rockcastle? I was assuming the AR15/Brownells Pro-am in August. That match, and all major 3gun matches, have no such restrictions. But some other event at Rockcastle might be different so my answer might be incorrect.

Also, who told you "hand loads are not allowed"? For the Pro-Am, nothing in the rules in the ammunition section.

Half the shooters in just about every match I've been to runs hand loads. Furthermore remanufactured ammo from a factory is considered new ammo not a hand load. I just bought 6-7k of remanufactured ammo and I'm shooting it at matches all across the country. It shoots as good as the same companies new stuff.

Agreed.

It starts with your head, then use your hands, if you try it in reverse, you don't even have a chance.

I know I'd be screwed if I had to fork over the $$ for factory ammo. I can punch out 55gr FMJ loads for about $150 per K using free brass.

How long does it take you to collect, prep, and load a 1000 rounds? I lack the time!

Collecting brass isn't too bad. They do all the regional SWAT training at the range I run, so I get to go in and whore up all the .40 and 5.56 brass when they are done. I must be sitting on 4-5K of .40 brass, but will say my 5.56 supply is getting scary low though. I'll also buy it sometimes if I really run up on a sweet deal . Once you are somewhat set up you, can build rounds pretty fast. I did 600 rounds of 5.56 in 2 evenings earlier this week ( for the CMMG shoot and practice this week), one night to prep all the brass and one night to load it up and I usually work till 6:30 PM or later. Power tools and a Little Crow Gunworks WFT really speed up the prepping process. Pistol ammo goes a lot faster due to the fact there's no real brass prep.

Your right though, I probably don't have the time either. Here's my typical day: Leave for work at 7:30AM, get home at 7PM. Go in the house, kiss the wife and baby and head up to the gun room. Work on loading, drills or gun maintenance until it's time for my son's bath at 10PM. I help with that until 10:30 or so then head back up till about Midnight. Then head out to the garage enjoy a big fat scotch and a smoke then go to bed .....Wake-up......and repeat. Not every day is like that, but probably 4 nights a week. Do I sleep as much as I should or spend as much time lounging around with the family as I should.....Probably not, but sleep is over rated and I'm not much for lounging unless it's after a match with the boys and a cold brewha in my hand. Plus my wife watches a lot of reality TV and American Idol type garbage......I can't stand that shit..... If it's on, I'm in either in my gun room or out in the garage on another project. So it works out for the most part. I don't know, maybe I'm just too much of a busy body.
