THE IMAGE ABOVE IS A PAID ADVERTISEMENT Obviously most shots will be within 25 yds. In the east, a long shot is 300 yards. Most of the local matches I have been to are maxed out inside 150-200 yards with a couple being out to 300 +/-. |

Are you talking about big matches or local ones? I`ve shot at 500+ at a couple big matches... its going to depend on the range and how much room they have to shoot.

I have shot several local matches with a max distance of 50-75 yards. That is all they had to work with. Also shot local level matches with a 300 yard bay and that was cool. Big matches I would hope to be forced into shooting a wider variety of shots. 5 - 400+ yards. |

The only big match I ever remember shooting under 250 was DPMS as they were limited on their range distance. All the rest I`ve shot have all had multiple 400+ yd shots. My all time favorite was shooting 500 yds with an Aimpoint at SOF in 2001... that was not fun..lol

Rocky Mountain had a 600 yard full size IPSC target last year. It is not irregular at major matches to see 4-500 yards.

It depends where your shooting. Majors can take you all the way out to 600. Most of the local matches around here are 350 and under.
