Divisional, Lady and Junior Races Return, Two New Divisions Debut

The debut of two new 3GN points races at 3GN-Affiliated matches highlight the coming 3-gun season, ensuring there is a competitive 3GN series for every skill and experience level at national, major 3-gun matches.

From the beginning, 3GN was conceived to become the true national example of professional 3-Gun action shooting. Thanks to our sponsors, our competition system and mediums are now in place. With the help from a long list of knowledgeable resources in and around the sport—we have created this comprehensive plan to continue our work and build this sport in a true professional manner, as well as facilitate programs and incentives to participate for Semi-Pro, Amateur, Clubs, Equipment Divisions, Ladies and Junior 3-Gun competitors at local, regional and national levels.

As we continue efforts for the Pro Series Tour, we will also continue to promote the sport of 3-gun in every venue type, adding the foundation for all levels of participation at 3GN Pro Tour events, major “Outlaw” events, local club events and much more.

3-Gun Nation Divisional Championships, Presented by Hornady

Featuring the top competitors in all of 3-gun, the 3-Gun Nation Divisional Championships, presented by Hornady, identifies the “Shooter of the Year” in five equipment divisions.

Hornady will award $5,000 first place prizes to series winners in the following divisions: Tactical Optics, Open, Tactical Iron, Heavy Metal and Heavy Metal Optics.

While 3GN Pro Series competitors are automatically entered into the 3GN Divisional Series, this points series is also open to any 3-gun competitor (excluding 3GN Semi-Pro and 3GN Amateur competitors).

3GN Division points may be earned at Superstition Mountain Mystery 3-Gun, Rocky Mountain 3-Gun, Midwest 3-Gun, MGM Ironman, Ozark 3-Gun Championships, Blue Ridge Mountain 3-Gun and Northwest 3-Gun.

Along with cash payouts, 3GN Pro Series Qualification Match slots can also be earned by shooting in the 3GN Divisional Series.

3-Gun Nation Lady Championship, presented by Hornady

During the 3-Gun Nation Championship Finale, during SHOT Show in Las Vegas January 2013, 3GN will hold the 3GN Lady Shoot-Off. Unlike 2011, where the winner was crowned via the 3-Gun Nation Shoot-Off, this season the 3GN Junior Championship is an all-out points race. The competitor with the top three scores at the end of the season will become the 2012 3GN Junior Champion.

Series points can be earned in any division (excluding Amateur match at Pro-Am). 3GN Junior Series points can be earned at the following matches: Superstition Mountain Mystery 3-Gun, Rocky Mountain 3-Gun, Larue-Texas Multi-Gun, CMMG Midwest 3-Gun, MGM Ironman, Adams Arms Ozark 3-Gun, AR15.com-Rockcastle Pro-Am, FNH USA 3-Gun, Blue Ridge Mountain 3-Gun and Leupold-Warne Northwest 3-Gun.

3-Gun Nation Semi-Pro Division

New for 2012, the 3GN Semi-Pro Series is open to any competitor (excluding 3GN Pros Series, Divisional, or Amateur Series competitors). The 3GN Semi-Pro Division will record series points at the following matches in 2012: Superstition Mountain Mystery 3-Gun, Rocky Mountain 3-Gun, CMMG Midwest 3-Gun, MGM Ironman, Adams Arms Ozark 3-Gun, FNH USA 3-Gun, Blue Ridge Mountain 3-Gun, Leupold-Warne Northwest 3-Gun, Larue-Texas Multi-Gun and AR15.com-Rockcastle Pro-Am.

The top four 3GN Semi-Pro Series competitors will earn an invitation to Las Vegas to compete in the 3GN Semi-Pro Shoot-Off. The winner will earn the title of 3GN Semi-Pro Champion and receive a first place prize of $5,000.

Semi-Pro Series competitors also will have the opportunity to compete for prizes based on series points, with the first place winner receiving a Stag Arms 3-Gun Nation rifle package, complete with Dueck Defense RTS sights, scope and hard case.

Also, the Semi-Pro Series is a route to the 3GN Pro Series in 2013, as slots into the 3GN Pro Series Qualification Match can be earned by Semi-Pro competitors.

For complete rules and info, go to http://3gunnation.com/pages/3-gun_nation_semi-pro_divisional_championship.

3-Gun Nation Amateur Division

Open to any competitor, excluding those already competing in 3GN Pro Series, 3GN Divisional Series, or 3GN Semi-Pro Division, the 3GN Amateur is designed for new to intermediate-level 3-gunners.

Competitors may record scores at the following matches in 2012: Superstition Mountain Mystery 3-Gun, Rocky Mountain 3-Gun, CMMG Midwest 3-Gun, MGM Ironman, Adams Arms Ozark 3-Gun, FNH USA 3-Gun, Blue Ridge Mountain 3-Gun, Leupold-Warne Northwest 3-Gun, Larue-Texas Multi-Gun and AR15.com-Rockcastle Pro-Am.

A prize structure for the top 3GN Amateur shooters is being developed, highlighted by a Stag Arms rifle going to the 3GN Amateur Series Champion.

For complete rules and info, go to http://3gunnation.com/pages/3-gun_nation_amateur_series.

3-Gun Nation Club Series

In 2013 3-Gun Nation will introduce the 3GN Club Series, where competitors can compete for score, a national ranking, prizes, and ultimately in the future—a slot in the 3GN Championship—without ever leaving their home club.

To proof the concept, this year 3GN will introduce a “Pilot Program” with a selection of hand-picked clubs. Courses of fire, reporting of scores, and overall logistics of this program will be developed in concert with the 3GN Pilot Clubs.

Look for more information throughout the season as we follow the progress of the 3GN Club Pilot Program.

3GN Outlaw Series

To participate in a 3GN Outlaw Division Series, competitors must register at www.3GunNation.com (Online membership and payment tool still under construction. Completion and announcment coming soon.). The 3GN Membership Fee will be $25 for each division, with a portion of the proceeds donated to the 3GN-Task Force Dagger Wounded Warrior 3-Gun Team!

The 3GN Outlaw Programs in no way effect host match prize tables or how these events are run in any way. The programs are additional competitive elements and prize structures administered in partnership with major 3-gun events.

When combined with the 3GN Pro Series , the Outlaw Series comprise an important part of 3GN’s comprehensive plan to grow the sport of 3-gun—on TV and the web via 3GN properties, at the match level with increased sponsor support of events and shooters, and at the ground level with increased participation in the sport of 3-gun.

So a "pro" can do the pro-tour thing AND the divisional points race, but a "semi-pro" can only do the "semi-pro" division? Why not let the Semi-pros in the division points race?

If I want to forgo the "semi-pro" thing and do the division points, do I have to declare that? And is that for tac optics only?

Ill look at the rules on the 3gn website and see if I can figure it out. Im just a semi-pro though, I might need some help from Jesse to figure it out.

You Can shoot the divisionals AND Semi-Pro. The choice is yours to sign up for both or just 1. - EDIT: This is incorrect. My apologies for any confusion. See response in post below.

I apologize Atomic, you are correct. At this time you may only shoot Semi-Pro OR Divisional Race. Not both.
