They would do just fine in the winter. They are very hearty animals. Unfortunately we don't have any feral pigs/hogs in the state. Rumor has it they are in the extreme SW of WI but they are rarely if ever sighted. If we want to hunt hogs it's a ranch and about $600-$800 for the privilege.

I'll be visiting my daughter in FL next year and am planning a hog hunt then...yay me!

Careful they will be accusing you of fan boy status. I still like the 123gr AMAX it may not exit but usually they're not far.
