I am building an AR10 that will be used for deer and hog hunting mostly, otherwise it will be a toy. I am putting a 3x12x56 Vortex on it. I was thinking of adding a set of the XS Threat Interdiction sights to it, in case one walks under my stand or whatever.

Anybody have anything like that on their hog AR?

Not currently because I don't have a lease right now, but at one point I had an offset micro aimpoint on my hog rifle that wore a magnified optic. I think it makes sense for some situations.

I've run them. I only used them once or twice, and then only because I decided to use them. I never "needed" them, as they were on a carbine with a 1-6x scope.

I pulled them off because I got tired of them hanging on brush and junk in the truck.

I have dueck offset sights on my two (about to be 3) hunting rigs. Part of why I have them is for things getting too close for magnified optics like what you said, but mostly for a pissed off and/or wounded deer or hog coming out of the brush with murder on their minds, and I don't have time to find them in my scope, just rotate and fire away.
