The 7.62x39 I think is an excellent 200yard and under HOG caliber with a lot of different bullets out there and a lot of different guns to use!

So had anyone used this round with success on hogs and can you post your kill pics ? Thanks

I've killed two hogs with that caliber, it works. I was using an Bubba'd SKS and Winchester PowerPoints.

I use a Ruger Mini 30 and love it. 5 in last 3 weeks and many more last year .
Using a Leupold pig-plex1-4 and get them on run. I have a Harden Arms 7.62 x39
Upper AR use brass shells work great also, but prefer the Ruger mini 30

I've tried it before with my friends bone stock SKS. Generally got good results inside 100m. This was with surplus ammo, nothing special.

Taken three hogs with that caliber.   2 fell over dead, one ran 5-10 yards then collapsed.    I am going next month and taking my Sig 556R.   I do use good ammo (Federal Fusion), although at the 50-100 yards I shoot I am not sure it matters.

Hogs Fall to 7.62x39

My experience is that inside 75 yds, it a gem. Past that you better have a stationary target.
Ammo used in vid was Russian hollow point steel case. The two big hogs were both smashed with one shot. They fell off in the weeds DRT.

Do you have daylight pics of the dead hogs? Wounds?

Not as much as 5.56, but sometimes.

I think the only pic's I had died with my windows computer but I think I killed 3 pigs. Personally I think the .30/30 does a better job. My SKS does not get carried very much at all.

haven't killed a hog with it, but the old Prvi round tip SP ammo was deadly on deer.
