Was out on the links last night again and was able to putt down four more boars ripping up the 18th hole with the Flir T-50 and 300BLK, here's two of them:

What's the snake doing?        Don't be killing all my kin...........

And the top one looks like a sow.

Whoops, that indeed was a sow, all the sows we have taken out have been gravid too.

Here are the 240 grain Sierra MatchKings loaded in the subsonic 300BLK case:

I remember way-back-when there being an argument that the "tumbling" of those barely-stable-and-very-long-for-caliber match bullets had good terminal ballistics. Mostly from the Point Blank at Long Range crowd that shot match bullets at >1k yard live targets. Not sure how closely related velocities for sub-sonic close in shots vs. high velocity but wayyyy out there shots are.
I've always been of the mindset that a big frontal area was key to a subsonic dutied bullet. That said, my subber is an NEF Handi in BLK. Unblooded. Used to sport a Noveske 10.2" Diplomat. But a buddy wanted it worse than I did.
Bottom line is the quarry needs to be DRT best as possible. If that ain't happenin the way ya want, alter the tool to function.

My 2014 Honda Pioneer with the FLIR Pan/Tilt and IR blasters just rolled over 3,000 miles on the odometer with zero mechanical or electrical problems, all traveled in my backyard!

So far it has been averaging a hog every 10 miles or 2 hogs per gallon (2HPG).

It hasn't done so well on the coyotes and is only averaging a coyote every 1.5 gallons.

I could use your luck, and gear, today. My inlaws have lost 15+ chickens and 1 full size boer goat in the last week.

I tried some calling last night but I really don't know what I'm doing. I also have to scan with a light whenever I think there might be something. Tonight I set some snares where I think they're crossing the fence. Well see how I did in the morning.

You forgot to mention that your back yard is 500+ acres...

Nice haul on the golf course.

The quote that a "Golf Course is a perfectly good waist of a rifle range"  not true, at least in Florida...

Woke up this morning and went out into front yard to feed the horses and they are stomping around rearing up on a wild hog in the pasture!

Dude came after me gashing and gnawing his teeth like he was going to bite me.

I am going to let him have a sporting chance to get outa here by sundown, but if he bites me, he's Bacon.

We nailed this Orange and Black Spotted sow out on the #2 fairway of the local Country Club golf course and thought her colors and marking were remarkable for a true Florida Piney Woods Rooter hog.

The Florida Museum of Natural History Mammography Division accepted the head, pelt and legs for a professional taxidermy preparation for their permanent "Florida Cracker" exhibit in the State Museum.

We delivered the meat to the University of Florida Veterinary Meat Lab for a professional meat preparation at the ceremony dedicating this hog to the museums collection!

Should be awesome once the trained professional taxidermist gets done with her.

300-350 annually and hopefully 40-50 coyotes.

Many of you that hunt hogs have seen rubs where the tree is covered with fresh mud where they routinely rub themselves.

Today I hiked into some thick woods into one of the bedding areas and found the biggest baddest rub I have ever seen anywhere, it is right next to a couple of huge wallowed out beds, the hogs bedded down here using this rub are all over 350 pounds and have been using this rub for years and years.

You can easily see their massive size by the height of the rub....

Nice representation there.  Even with that 300-350 being removed you probably don't really dent the population.  Prolific little suckers..

70,000 acres.

Here was the kill shot on this State Museum quality hog!

Will get some pics of the final mount in the museum after all is done.

Here's what I'm talkin' about!

Wild hog sausage and ribs, venison tenderloin and ribs, peppers, squash, eggplant, onions and Mallard breasts wrapped in bacon, all washed down with two liters of homemade blackberry wine!

Then, after nightfall, I use my FoxPro TruckPro to call in this mean looking rare jet black coyote and nail him with one shot @ 225 yards.

Freakin' AWESOME!

Had a great hunt all by my lonesome self last night. Weather was excellent, no wind, light overcast, almost full moon, 50*F.

Went out about 10PM back behind the house and hiked 1 mile down the forest grade and spied a group of hogs deep in the woods rooting around about 250 yards away with the FLIR LS-XR.

Stalked up closer and took a headshot on this boar with the HK/Flir T-70 at 175 yards, DRT.

Entire hunt took about 30 minutes and hiked back home to get the UTV to haul the hog back for processing, perfect meat boar.

A new six foot alligator recently moved into the pond back behind the barn about two weeks ago and has been sunning himself in the middle of the day out there in the open.

I put the offal where he's been sunning himself in front of a game cam to see if I could get some close up pics of him chomping on some boar meat.

Of course, they prefer rancid meat so might have to wait a few days if the Bald Eagles leave anything for him.....

Was walking down the road towards a feeder with a game camera on it when my buddy with a PVS-14 helmet on (I was using a FLIR M-24 helmet mounted) said that he could see big flashes of light up ahead a 1/4 mile. I told him it could be a coon or a deer on the feeder but to turn on his FLIR RS64-35 just in case.

Continued walking and came up on the feeder clearing in the dense woods and sure enough a large hog was near it, but he was leaving it and heading back into the forest. We slowly followed him deeper and deeper into the woods with him disappearing over and over again behind the trees and us trying to rearrange our position to be able to see him in the thermals. Almost lost him a couple of times but he did not catch our scent cone as he was roaming around rooting.

Finally he turned back towards us after a good 20 minute stalk and nailed him in the leg and the Barnes TSX broke his arm and blew out his lungs. Boar hog took off running and fell and got up twice until I put a slug in his head.

Scrambled hog brains from 200 yards out, in one ear and out the other.

Hog staggered standing for a full five seconds after the shot and then just fell over stiff on its side.

Folks, be sure to use your thermal scanners during the day as well as at night.

Was out cruising around in the UTV with the FLIR M-324XP thermal scanner on and spied this boar hog snoozing in a pile of mud ooze in the middle of a wet prairie with the FLIR thermal, never would have seen him unless I was using the thermal during the day.

Hog woke up when I stopped and ran right by me and took a bullet to the ear at 20 feet out in the middle of the day from my Knights Armament KAC-15 silenced SBR!

Day use of my thermal scanner made the kill possible.....

This hog was only about 20 feet from me and too close to use the 4X ACOG scope, so I used the Truijicon MRDS red dot sight on top of the ACOG to take him out with an earshot!
