Great Job. Every once in a while you get a rife that just acts like a heat seeking missile. Good shooting.

You TX fellas have all the fun. Feral vermin pigs are protected here in the hayseed state.

I hunt because I love to hunt BUT the smile on a landowner's face after you've killed some of the vermin that have caused him thousands of dollars in damage is priceless! I have a hard time believing feral hogs would be protected anywhere.

Hornady 123 grain AMax factory. One shot per hog dropped all three in their tracks. I am not kidding either... they did not run a yard.

I thought that round would expand too quickly if it hit the shoulder, and not penetrate enough to effect a quick kill. I've killed a hog with my 7mm before, but definitely want to go on a pest-control mission with my Grendel. I was thinking of using Scirocco 130's or Hornady SST 129's. I do, however have a bunch of A-max 123's, and they are cheap (relatively) and accurate. I also wonder whether Wolf MPT might be a good round, even if it's not especially accurate. |
