Baiting for your trap can get a lot of deer in fast and then your bait is gone before your pigs show up.
My cousin (South Oklahoma near Durant) heard some folks talking about baiting them in and he tried it. You are more than welcome to check me up on this as I found it crazy when he first told me. He puts diesel on corn for bait. The deer won't eat it and the pigs don't seem to care. Regardless the bait last and the pigs are caught and killed. He uses stock panels and a one way gate. This way he is able to move it after they figure it out (about three or four nights). He is killing about 15 a week. |

It might even be illegal here, I am not sure I wished they could come out with a food pellet that would make them sterile Just like poisoning, could have the same effects on other animals that use the feeders. Not sure if it possible for you, but selective targeting of the sows when shots present themselves would be a definite. |

We watch the pigs in live video, the camera is triggered by a "text photo?" The guy triggers the camera with the ability to see live video and you are expected to rely on a text that could be 30 seconds old or older? I really don't like it when one thing is displayed and another is sold. If there isn't live video, the entire video should have only shown the text pics, not the video. Nice gadget, but you can't know you'll trap 100% of ANY hogs if there is a delay from text to gate-dropping call. |

We've walked up on a group of about 40+ and while there was 8 of them in the trap we were able shoot another three! But I you think about it we took care 11 out of say 40?! Most of those were sows. We need lots more traps :) FYI, powered gatorade mixed w/ the corn drives these pigs crazy. Just my experience... Good luck Jello mix is a lot cheaper than Gatorade and it also works |

My FIL had them getting into his deer feeder pen. He had groups and groups of them on his game cam. They were coming under weak spots in the fence. IMO this would work very well as long as there was a swing door to let them in and keep them trapped inside of it. It is not ideal for him as they would go weeks in the pen without anyone being up there. In your case this should work great. Just build a pen with a feeder and put a small chute with a swing gate so they can get in but not out. Check it every day or so and put them down. Tie them to your 4wheeler and drag them out.

I have been down to eradicate others hogs a few times.
We have always used bait/feeder and then used night vision. An AR with NV+ a can is the sbsolute heat on hogs. Even better is a large group of friends equipped like this with designated sectors of fire. |

I have an extra hog trap and the means to make more. Where in TX are you (I'm in Dallas)?
