I use an SAR 1 with an Ultimak rail and a PDP5 Tasco red dot.  Worked great for me in the woods where shots are within 50 to 75 yards or so.

Nothing overly fancy.  My favorite carbine with the following:

- 14.5" BMP 1:9 with perm attached 5C2
- Mega Machine Forged upper and lower (lower is actually a Holland Gunworks "HGW" serial number 0003 )
- Colt Bolt and M16 carrier
- Colt FCG
- Magpul CTR
- KAC RAS
- Hogue Grip
- TLR-1

The optic is a Yukon Titanium 1.5x Gen 1 with illuminator.  Awesome little scope.  This is a great setup for dispatching piggies at night when it's too hot to hunt in the summertime during the day.

New rifle to support my night vision (sorry for crappy cell phone pic):

It is a Palmetto State Upper with 16" SS 1:8 Wylde midlength.  MOE handguards.  NICE upper.

Lower is a CAV Arms one piece polymer with COLT FCG and David Tubb's springs.  Whole gun is nice and lightweight.

Probably gonna get a bunch of different answers here, but I think the general consensus is heavier than 60gr with some form of expansion (HP, SP, copper aka Barnes).

That being said, I've taken a few hogs with 55gr SP myself.

thanks dallas, i bought a box of v shock lead free hp's. We'll see what happens, ill be surprised if it works well but im trying to abide by the california laws. here in ca your supposed to use lead free ammo when hunting to protect the california condor. The only experience i had so far with these non lead rounds was hunting with my dad. we took the dogs out and he shot one with a copper 20 gauge slug and it went right through the pig and didn't really expand. I"ll post my results once I shoot a pig with these rounds.

That's how I usually roll. Ive never killed one with anything but a knife. Sometimes my pops will bring a 44 mag super redhawk or a little 20 ga with some slugs. But since I recently got myself an Ar 15 Ive been wanting to shoot a pig from a distance.

P.S. Lots of pigs posted here look kinda like some farm raised pigs. Fat, no teeth, big floppy ears, barely any hair. Whats up with that?  The pigs in my area are lean, mean, long snouts, smaller ears, all around tougher looking.

Is MOJO some sort of secret code for Will the guy who "invents" stuff that others have designed and manufactured repeatedly in the past?

Feral pigs. They were or had parents who were farm raised and escaped/released to the wild.

Nice rifle!
That's my setup too, almost exactly. I have a Swift 6x24x50 scope on my gun (which I really like. It does the trick for me).
Man, I really like my SPS. It's scary accurate with factory ammunition, but I'm just getting into reloading and can't wait to fine tune a load for it.

Not as sophisticated as most of the rifles here.  I am needing a new light, this Pentagon X2 is good for in the house, but it just doesn't throw enough light for any kind of distance.

It's a former FR-8. Original stock "slightly" modified, bedded, trigger job, steel Redfield receiver sight, Williams ramp and Patridge front sight, Ashley (XS Systems) scope mount and Burris 2.75X Scout scope. Wonderful little sub-moa rifle. I own tons of centerfire rifles, but this is my "go to" rifle. My daughter and I have killed a pickup load of deer and hogs with it.
