I've got the same gun in .44 Mag, still unfired. Been trying to sell it but am about to give up. Once I shoot it and start working with it I know I'll want to keep it. |

Mine touches bullet holes at 50 yards with buckhorn sights. I had to paint the front sight post neon orange to see it better.

Unfortunately it isn't a bolt on, apparently these Rossi 92's are all slightly different and the butt stock will have to be fitted to the tangs on the receiver, something I'm not confident in doing. |

10.5" upper, larue handguard, aimpoint mount, and flashlight mount. Magpul stock, grip, and mag. Taken near Cross Plain, TX
Nice stick! Where's the can? Range, load? Again I really like the way that rig looks. How much does it weigh? |

I just paid my FFL for a Gemtech Piranha so should be getting that soon (16oz thread on so shouldn't add too much weight). Distance was about 50-75 yards (didn't walk it off) out of the back of the Dodge Ram in the pic. Load was 55gr .223 soft point store bought from Academy. As for weight, I'm not really sure, never weighed it before and unfortunately don't have a scale here at the house. |

I wish Georgia would let us use suppressors for hog hunting. Might put a dent in the populations if we could. They dont respond to shooting to well around here.

Hunterboy, You just have to shoot fast and take as many as you can before they hit overdrive or the bushes. Check out the pics from my son's kills this past weekend. I posted them under pig kill pics. He used a 7 rem mag that he got for christmas last year. This is the first time he has shot it at game. 6 shots, 6 dead piggies.

I wouldn't willingly go close enough to a live wild hog to use a bow. I prefer them at long distances until after they stop squealing. I met some guys that have had good success with bows on hogs. After explaining their use of NV and tactics I can see how they get multiples on each night out. It got me fired up about seeing if a crossbow with NV would be a good match...think I'd carry a big bore sidearm doing it though... They headmount the NV and stalk a bait row of feed. When one shows up they follow until the hog reaches the end of feed. When the hog does a 180 turn to clean up more feed they drop off to the side and sling a stick when they're back in range...Sounds like a blast to me... |

Never pick a fight with seven men if all you are packing is a six gun.

Jesnic- Shooting faster ought to be easier now. I finally jumped on the AR band wagon and it shoots fast enough to wipe them out. Now if i could just catch them out in the field. I am baiting them now under that permit you can get through DNR, so maybe that will help.

Wow, there's some real firepower shown in this thread. Not to offend, but a thirty round magazine for a piggy? I go a bit more traditional. And no, I don't carry all the rounds at once, it's an either or thing.
When you get into a sounder of 40 or 50 hogs at night, you really appreciate 30 rd mags. |

How much are those running? What kind of recoil can they handle. Pretty small thermal sight. I like it... |
