Here's a few

Funny story on this last one here.  I took my girlfriends brother in law night hunting with me in south texas.  He was helmet mounted with a mum and I had the 760.  This pig was with a small group of 6-8 hogs.  They were coming right at us on a sandero, and I wanted to wait till they turned broadside for a earhole shot.  Well they never did.  I was prone and he was standing beside me beating on my shoulders to shoot because they got in so close.  Turned out to be a 9yard shot between the eyes. LOL... He about shit his drawers, and I didn't realize how close they were untill I got the white light out.

Mine was shot with the 85 grain SSA factory load out of the 6.8 160 yards with an aimpoint and a 3x magnifier... one shot in the neck bang flop.

I use a variety of calibers ranging from .223 to 300wm.  I mostly use a ar in .223 for hog hunting, keeping my shots to the earhole.  I'll be trying some different set ups this year to see how I like them.  One is a .50cal beoulf shooting 334g hp's.  The other is a 16in fulton armory .308 upper for my lr-308, and a sps tactical 308 shooting subsonic loads surpressed.

I've always used my remy with .308....wether it was 150gr core lokt or federal 180gr...usually go for a shoulder shot and ive never had one run...but im thinking about taking my AR out and using some m855 rounds

Ill play.

Friend and I stalked this two sows and their piglets for about 300 yards before busting them up. The one of the left is mine.

Shot this boar last weekend. Thank God for red q-beams.

I shot all these pigs with Prvi's 75gr BTHP. Gets the job done for sure.

Big +1 for the pics. I am planning on spending the majority of this summer in southern Florida, are there any public areas to hog hunt around or is it all private land/pre arranged hunting??

In Florida, hogs are only considered "game" animals on state owned wildlife management areas. On private property they are considered vermin. If a hog is on your property, you are the owner of that hog and can shoot anytime as the hog is NOT a game animal on private property.

Downed them both with one shot w/ 30.06. When I went out to get them the first one hit was still alive and squealing and kicking because the 30.06 did not expand through him, so he got a 556 to the head.

Nice hog from 2007 at my uncles ranch outside of Graham Texas.  He was the dominant boar in a group of about 40.  He was beating up on the other boar.  I lunged him at about 125 yards with a 75gr Softpoint from a pump action .243.  He dropped immediately.  He was still kicking so I put one into his head after he dropped.  He had a ball of mud dried on his tail that would smack him in the balls as he walked.  I found it pretty strange.  I wish I had my AR then because I would have gotten at least one more because they stood around for a few seconds after he dropped.

interesting to see the different pigs in different areas. Some are obviously wild domesticated type pigs while others are/have bred with the russian boar.

Got home after work this afternoon about 4.30PM and took the hounds out for a walk. No sooner did I round the corner of the barn that I saw a hog flash by in the woods. I safely got the dogs back in the house and grabbed my trusty SIG 556 Commando with the Burris XTR 1-4 scope and headed out.

It was our very first fall like day with no humidity and sky high cirrus clouds, which unfortunately made it very very bright and extremely difficult to see facing the west as the sun was heading down towards the horizon.

I moved down into the woods and sat still looking for any movement or sign of hogs, especially since just two days ago my wife and I saw the monster boar I've been after all year long.

After about 15 minutes I heard some grunting about 200 yards to the south of me, so I slowly stalked out further into the open to see what was going on. Looking across a wet prairie pond, I could see the monster boar with a large sow and about 10 piglets. It was too bright to make them out in the tall grass as the rooted around in and out of the sunlight and shade.

I sat still trying to get a bead on them @125 yards with the scope but no luck, I was inundated with raw sunlight and could not clearly make out much of anything through the scope.

Suddenly, a pretty good sized hog came charging out of the tall grass about 60 yards in front of me and wheeled to look straight at me. He snorted and I got him lined up for a lung shot through the scope immediately and pulled the trigger. He lunged and ran about 50 feet and dropped dead. All the other hogs took off snorting through the woods and I did not try to take any of them out due to the super bright sunlight.

Another one bites the dust!!!

Shot this guy 2 weeks ago.

Nice little 200 yard shot.

He had some impressive tusks, enough so my friend lopped off his head to have it mounted.
