55 grain at only 2800 ft/sec? Why so slow ? WWB 45 grain clocks 3500 from my rifles. But they are rifles with20" barrels

I would never usually consider this shot, but this was in an extremely remote canyon in Idaho. We snowmobiles into the general area then hiked up into this cliff face to call for predators. Looking for wolves, coyotes and mountain lions but decided to be opportunistic when we weren't able to call anything in. Nothing behind this bird but hundreds of miles of rough snow covered mountains. |

here in NV the wildlife regs list 2 birds that can be shot without a license, all year long, and dont have to be harvested for eating either, english sparrow and eurasian rock dove.
More or less varmint status. 50 gr v-max or z -max= poof 3850 from the swift |
