Baiting for turkeys is pretty illegal across the board no matter where you're at.

Putting any grain on the ground in piles will get pretty moldy, anyway. They like bugs.

He mentioned "luring" turkey onto his land and not necessarily hunting over the attractant. Most state do not permit hunting over bait but you need to check your state's hunting regulation to be certain what is permissible. I do provide some corn delivered in a feeder on the property where I hunt. It does help the population over the winter months. I do not hunt near the feeders and stop the use of corn well before the start of hunting season. Here in Missouri, the rule says:

Use of bait, which includes grain or other feed placed or scattered so as to attract turkeys. An area is considered baited for 10 days even after complete removal of the bait. A hunter can be in violation even if he or she did not know an area was or is baited. It is illegal to place bait in a way that causes others to be in violation of the baiting rule.

Again, you need to check the regulations for your state and follow the law.
The most important rule in a gunfight is: Always win and cheat if necessary.

When we only have corn in the deer feeders, we get deer and hogs. Well, hogs, hogs, hogs, deer and more hogs anyway. When we add milo or throw it out by hand, the turkeys come flocking in. I've never hunted turkey, but they're fun to watch.

NC has the same restriction reference baiting as stated for Missouri. There are some crops that turkeys love same as deer. Biologic and others that sale seeds for food plots, Chicory,Chufa and other crops. Other aspects to lure them onto your property is good habitat.
