Nice-I've been wanting to get a greenwing teal since I started hunting ducks, but apparently by the time the drakes get their colors in they've mostly left our area. I did manage to get a nice pretty hooded merganser last year, maybe I'll post a pic of the mount sometime soon.

Here's the merganser I mentioned. The taxidermist couldn't spread the hood all the way without gaps because some of the white feathers were missing, whether from my shot or just one of those things that happens with a wild bird. I'm still happy with the job he did, especially at the $150 price. Other guys I called wanted $200-$250 for a medium duck, and do similar work. Best part is the guy I use is local so no shipping or long drive. He did a really nice job on a hen wood duck a few years ago too." target="_blank">
ETA-he's a little dusty at the moment, needs another cleaning.

^Nice banded black duck.

I hunted 15 times and shot 66 ducks in Oregon this year. Best season I've ever had and probably won't be matched in quantity until I retire. 1 banded mallard, 1 duck at the taxidermist (drake pintail), two species I've never shot before (canvasback x 2, gadwall), a new boat, and a whole lot of fun.

Pic from the final hunt of the year:

Edit: Pintails just seem like they're about 3 feet long from bill to sprig, don't they?
