Now that we have only one weekend left up here in NH I figured I would sare a few pics.

My son 8 years old, first duck ever, youth weekend.

Opening day for me, 2 woodies and a mallard

My best day, I was one shy of reaching the 6 bird bag limit.  3 mallards and 2 hooded mergansers

My son and father in law each bagged a goose.

First mallard ever!

Much more meat than the teal, woodies and buffle's!

This duck hunting thing is kind of addicting...

Mallards have more meat, but I still have to say woodies taste the best.  I got a buffle last year (which I understand are kinda unusual in NH) and, ewwww, fish taste.  Never came across a teal.

Buffies are great, shouldn't taste like fish though,
If you want real fish flavor, eat a merganser

Mine tasted alot like a merganser, not quite as strong, the spot I got him is frequented by mergansers and I think they are eating alot of fresh water mussels.

Couple pics from this season.  Tomorrow is the last day of the season here, hopefully we will get a few more.

Last day of the season just one woodie

Should have had one more picture of a goose but I fell in the water while duck hunting and trashed my phone

Over all the season kinda sucked, we just did not get the amount of ducks we usually do.

We had a pretty good season this year in terms of hunting - not so good in terms of remembering to take pictures.  The last weekend of the season saw some pretty good shooting.  We killed 16 mallards and a handful of other ducks (green wing teal, gadwall, ringnecks) combined Saturday and Sunday.  Here are a couple we did take from the middle of January.  Three hunters, three limits, two mornings in a row.

Well I'm gonna revive this thread for 2016.

3 day pheasant hunt, outside of Gregory South Dakota at the Buffalo Butte ranch.  I couldn't be more impressed by the lodging, guides, their hunting set up and everything they provided.  The Springer family were the best hosts that one could ask for.

This trip was a corporate trip, my company invited the division managers and top sales / technical staff that hunt along for the adventure. Over all, we had 8 of us on the trip.  The hunting was so good that we were typically done hunting for the day by Noon-1pm.

Our wonderful guides

Their clientele list is absolutely amazing.  If anyone is wanting to go on a bird hunt there, I'd highly recommend it.

Had an alright morning of the last weekend here. The 3 of us hit every bird we shot at, for once

Not a great area for ducks up here, but we do OK. Same with geese.

Pard got this pic with his ipotato.

And since I'm sure there's a fucking fudd or two that will get all accusatory seeing a single photo without having been there:  the magazine is doweled/plugged to prevent more than 2 rounds going into it.  The bird fell far enough out and started swimming away that someone needed to go recover it, so I went.  The mask was put on after I returned.  Hopefully that allows everyone to enjoy a humorous photo and not get their panties all up in their cracks.

Thanks!  As I told my hunting partner, I had as much fun shooting the camera as I did shooting ringnecks.  We made a push through the CRP and then I left the shotgun and picked up the D500 + 70-300.

It was a brutal week in NE Kansas, but by God we decided to try January, so we tried January.  Think we'll be sticking to November from here on out.
