I unfortunately lost a few spots around me where I use to hunt coyote. Now I am looking at possibly going on state land and in Illinois for certain places it's either shotgun only or rimfire or shotgun. So anyone using 22mag or .17 hmr for the yotes?

Skull is in the freezer right now, probably going to run it though the bugs this winter.

I have another one that my dad shot between the eyes with a 204. It's cleaned, just need to degrease and whiten it.

I have taken a number of yotes with the 22mag, most all were heads shots. I made a few body shots and one did not go well despite it going right into the boiler room.

I shot one through the ribs with a 22mag once too. It spun a little and dropped....then about 3 seconds later jumped up and took off, never found it.

Bought my .17hmr after coyote and rabbit hunting with my buddy.  He's upgraded to 17wsm and I would grab one if I didn't buy so much hmr ammo.
