After using the P90 and five-seven in Counter-Strike, I took an affinity to the round, but not enough to pick one up.  I was just wondering if anyone was actually using it for hunting.  It seems to me like a 22 winchester magnum rimfire +P+.  I do like the idea, but not the buy-in.

I'm not sure the intended target, body armor wearing raccoons?

in all honestly my buddy owns a FiveSeven pistol and it is one of the pistols I shoot most accurately. Really fun gun.

A friend has a RIA 22 TCM 1911 pistol but RIA just released a bolt action 22 TCM carbine.  The 40 grain .224 bullet has a MV of 2800 FPS Plus out of the rifle and around 2000-2100 out of the pistol.  The rifle will accept the 17 round pistol mags but is supplied with a 5 round mag.   I think an M-1 carbine chambered in the 22 TCM would be pretty cool but the RIA bolt action is made to accept a scope.

they sell 40gr v-max for it.  that is why I was wondering.  Would make follow up shots simpler with less recoil.

I've got one, been trying to hunt with it for two years, don't really see anything when I take it. Although I used it once to finish off a coyote that I hit in the spine with my ar. I only had 40gr. Tmjs with me, shot him in the chest twice at about seven feet. It continued to breath so I immediately put one in his head, when I skinned him I wasn't able to find any exit hole from the head as the bullet traveled down through the neck. The ones in the chest went through with no significant exit holes because they hadn't any expansion. I think if I had v-max it would have been killed with one shot as the bullet basically explodes.
