Just finish loading 300 rounds of .204 Ruger for my Cooper Montana Varminter and my Cooper Phoenix.

Sod poodles beware.....

Plan on breaking last trip's total.

headed up North central MT in two weeks to help build a cabin for a friend. he has two sq miles of sod poodles and I'm the only one who gets to shoot them for free
Last year I got 300+ in two afternoons using a .17HMR H&R sportster. what a pain in the wrist

went up there this weekend between "work sessions", in 95-100 degree heat, I shot 300 rounds of .17 HMR in my new Marlin and 120 rounds of .223 trough my old Savage.
With no spotter I'd have to estimate about 40-50% hits, some runs with 5 hits in a row then a couple of misses thats how it goes
Some observations after two seasons of doing this; the noise factor of the .17 HMR vs that of .223 makes a significant difference in "spookieness" the .17 does not bother them nearly as much as the .223. the .17 does kill them out to 200+ yards, and you can see every wound/kill shot, but sometimes you can't see where your miss went, However you miss the "air time" of a centerfire hit my 2cents
