That rookie is me. I have my 1st one at the end of the month. We have a 3 man team and we're packing a .17HMR (Hornadys), AR (Hornadys) and 12 gauge (00 Buck). Is that a good setup? We can only turn in Coyotes and Bobcats.

Is there any way you can get your hands on anything larger than a .17HMR?

Not to say that it won't work, I'm not trying to open that can of worms, but it isn't the best choice out there for either critter.

ETA: My reading comprehension sucks tonight, I didn't see the AR listed also. I'd leave the .17 at home and stick with the AR.

Yeah, I own a 17HMR and love it, but wouldn't use it one a yote or bobcat if I had a choice. You can take yotes with it, but you better be good at head shots.

I have a Remington 6mm I could take instead. Would that suffice?

6mm is basically a .243, right? That's worlds better than a .17hmr for predators.

Good luck and post up some pics for the rest of us.

It's easy to get jealous of all the predators y'all have out west.

If you do your calling right, your camo right, and set up your stands properly. Then everyone should be within shotgun distance.

I think we have a pretty good setup and we have multiple spots that are a good ways from each other so hopefully we can shoot and move.
