That's the rifle I am in the process of building starting with a Spike's lower on the way. Except I am going with Magpul FDE furniture. is that the 18" Stealth upper?

Yeah that's Larue Stealth, POF lower, it's a great shooter, next thing I got in line for it is NF 5.5-22x56, and Geissele DMR trigger.

Very nice! How do you like that stock? Does it still have a storage compartment like a regular A2?

Larue stealth, jp trigger, magpul stock with d-760 and m4-2000 can.    Helmet rigs are for stalking and spotting.

The stock is great.  i was a little skeptical since it is so much cheaper than other stocks but it works great.  The entire inside of the stock is hollow so not only does it have a huge storage area but it is also very light.  It makes the rifle a little barrel heavy but not enough to make it uncomfortable to shoot or carry.

Here is my hunting set up:

It is a Doublestar from CMMG's bargain bin for $550 from a few years back. It has a non-chrome lined M-4 profile barrel that I was going to replace with an 18" stainless barrel, but I tested it first and it is very accurate, so I will try to wear it out and replace it later. I cut the front site down so it would fit under the YHM free float tube and swapped the bird cage for a Phantom. I also swapped out the pistol grip for an Ergo grip, scrounged up an ASA one piece base and got a Bushnell Elite 3200 3-9X40 compact scope with flip up caps and stuck it all together. I painted it with Krylon and Testors Model Master model paint. I did a broad base coat pattern, then went back and used crunched up papertowel to "sponge" up the paint. I would dab it on some cardboard until it left the pattern I wanted, then make few dabs on the rifle and dip again as needed. I was hoping to get a good desert / sage brush pattern, and am pretty happy with the results. Since the pic was taken I have painted the flip up caps to match the rifle so they don't stand out anymore.

That is a very cool camo pattern! Any chance we could see some pics of your rifle "in the wild"? You should paint your mags, too - those suckers really shine in the sun.

.410 AR got its first kill.
Note the eye is red. One pellet nailed in one eye and out the other. Couple other pellets hit too, but that was the really good one. Dropped instantly.
# 4 shot.

Yes! I have been waiting for you to post your first kill picture with that bad boy! How far away were you? Does that AR have a choke or anything?

No choke. He was about 10 yards away.

It was actually a really strange/funny/kind of stupid kill.

I was checking my email on my phone while sitting on a log.
Looked up.
There was a squirrel.
Still holding my phone with my left hand, I lifted the AR with my right arm, aimed and fired just holding with my right arm.
Squirrel dropped
I put the gun down and went back to my email.
Ah the great outdoors.

Thank you!

I will get some In the Wild pics next time I get out, unfortunately it will be a few weeks before I have time. I was going to paint a few mags, but decided to try and track down a couple of the flat earth 20rd MagPul PMags instead. Still looking :-(

Here's mine (just finished).  I set it up for coyote/wolf hunting.  I still need to break in the barrel, remount the scope with different rings, and sight it in.

Finally got a chance to get out and take a pic "in the wild" as requested. This is not one of the areas I usually hunt, as it sees quite a few shooters and ATVers, but I went to shoot some steel today and took the coyote AR out to make sure it was dialed in now that it is getting colder. As you can see I did find a couple of FDE PMAGs. The areas I normally hunt have more grass mixed with the sage, so maybe another pic down the road, but this will have to do for now.

Saturday's kill. This is #2 for this summer's group buy Stag build.

Sunday's kill. NOT an AR. This bitch was eyeballin' me through the brush, so I eyeballed her back!

There are many like it but this one is mine.

This Miculek brake works GREAT but it doesn't look very good on my heavy bull barrel...I was thinking of getting the JP Large Profile Tactical Comp which would still give me the same look but it will fit the barrel diameter better...any other ideas?

Plus they are a pain to carry to a stand.

And yes, as I mentioned in the crow hunting thread, an owl decoy is useful at times because it gets the ravens all fired up about their #1 enemy being on their turf. But you don't need lots of decoys and such to start crow hunting. Just get a regular decoy, or start making some distress noise in a crow area, and BAM you're on your way. Just this morning, after no coyote showed, I drilled one that was just sitting in a cedar tree, cawing and making racket. I think it was hungry - so I fed it 55 grains!

Rizzo, I can't find the crow hunting thread you are talking about.  Where is it?

My first AR.  Stag model 1

Magpul UBR stock

Troy iron sight.
Leupold AR 3-9x40
LaRue LT-104 QD scope mount
Butler Creek sling
Command Arms G-27 pistol grip.

Nice for me ...... bad news for coyotes in Az!

150-200yds is my guess, it was just about completely covered with the dot thru the T-1.  I had closer kills but most wriggled back down into the holes, this one had the best separation of stomach contents from body that I found.
