Just got one in a trade I can't refuse.  30-06.

ETA:  It's a Gen 1.  Added a Timney 2lb trigger spring, Butler Creek Caps, and had the stock hydrodipped in Kryptek Raid.

I absolutely love the A Bolt.  I have owned 4 of them in the past.  All Stainless Stalkers.  My current is a 300 Win Mag.

A quick and easy way to check if it is an A-Bolt 2 is check for a palm swell.  If it is a right hand bolt, the palm swell is on the right side of the grip portion of the butt stock.  It will be a hump that sticks out the right side and the left will be mostly flat.

EDIT-  This is only true for the synthetic stocks.

You can't go wrong with that rifle.

The only negative is not having a safety on when you cycle the bolt.

I've got one in .300 Win Mag. I've shot a few antelope, mule deer and elk with it. I like it, but it's a heavy beast!

Mine is a smooth working bolt , much nicer than other bolt guns I have shot. Free float tapered barrel , light weight 6 lb rifle is great for carrying around , a little stout on the recoil. For hunting it is great, however the bluing rusts easily so wipe it down and lube it regularly.

I have one in 308. Trigger sucks. Other than that it is pretty nice.

I have the SS Stalker in 7mm Mag. Love it. Had it since my wife bought it for my 30th bday 18 years ago. It has the BOSS and While it was always a good shooter, I never really realized the accuracy potential until I started reloading a few years ago. It is a tack driver with my 150gr NBT loads. Action always smooth as silk, short bolt throw, and great trigger that I have adjusted pretty light.

It came in a RH thumbhole stock I had to take off.

Shoots better than I -

Have a Stainless Stalker in '06. Wife bought it for me in late 80s, when we didn't have two nickels to rub together. She scrimped and saved for it.
Very accurate gun, have taken turkeys to moose with it.

I have a couple. An Abolt stainless stalker with Boss in 375 H&H. It's a deer killing machine. My second is an Abolt Micro in 284 Winchester. It is a great rifle, light & damb accurate with my handloads. My favorite rifle in the world is my fathers Abolt Stalker with Boss of in 7mm Rem. Easily the most accurate factory rifle I've ever shot.

This BBR in .270, predecessor to the A-Bolt, belonged to my dad.  These were discontinued in 1984 or so and it hasn't been fired in almost 30 years.

I'm planning to use it this fall though when hunting fields; need to take at least one deer with it just because it was his gun.
