Swirling wind? Specifically, is there a Barometric pressure or dewpoint or other factor that makes the wind stray from the predicted direction, to blowing from every point on the compass?

Wind generally is affected by high and low pressure and the time of day.

I have no idea but don't you just hate hunting steep hillsides and hollers where the wind swirls all the dang time!

I hear you, but what I hate is counting on a N wind forecast, Getting up at 4:45, Checking WeatherUnderground and it says 3mph form N. Then driving 1hr. to my land and walking 15mins to my tree and set up and watch my breath flow every direction, then don't see a damn thing.

I was wondering if their might be a certain pressure or dewpoint that would be more prone to swirling wind and I could avoid those days. These are mostly on mornings with very low winds, most all the flags on my drive are completely flat showing little to no wind.

I hear you but they can be good producing spots; killed several in places like that.
