Last day of gun season, and this fine lady strolled through some bushes and paid the price. Shot ended up a few inches back, but I'm pleased with the result. Got liver and some lung. Easy track job about 50 yards into the thorns of course.

.45-70 Barnes TSX 300 gr. The 45-70 is endearing itself to me quickly. This is #3 with it. I'll update with a rib cage shot if I remember.

Shot this on November 20th. Nothing big but some meat for the freezer. Love me some venison! Shot at about 50 yard with a Mossberg 500 20ga using Remington coppersolids. Perfect double lung just how I like it, went maybe 50 yards.

Shot these two last night. Late antlerless season is over today and I have two tags left. Don't know if I'm going to fill the other two tags, but these will give me three in the freezer.

.

62gr .223 Fusion to the neck dropped him in his tracks but didn't immediately kill him.  I put another round in him after climbing down and noticing he was still alive.

300BLK supersonic, through the chest.

He ran about 10 yards, stumbled back, and was dead right there.

Was fortunate to be offered the opportunity to hunt after six years, and this walks out during the morning hunt.  Shot taken from 150 yards using 270 WIN with Hornady 140gr SSTs.  That's an exit wound, and he ran about 30 feet before expiring:

Got the mount back 2 weeks ago....taxidermist did an outstanding job.  And I didn't even show him a pic of the buck before he started work:

The amazing thing about this deer was that he only dressed out to about 95 pounds.

my 15 year old  son's Early Youth Season buck. killed, gutted, loaded on the ATV and brought down off the mountain by himself to the awaiting eyes of all of us at the cabin. taken with a Howa 1500 7mm-08 with Federal Premium 140gr Accubonds at 10 yards from a small brush blind. one of several bucks of his that has ended up a European Mount since he has been 8 years old. it was a huge bodied deer for us. 148lbs dressed. I think during rut it would have weighed in around 120-125, based on my records of past deer kills.

Very late post.

got this one the last day of PA rifle season at around 8am

a group of 8 was crossing the far hillside about 150-170 yards away. I shot (clean miss) and this one and 3 others ran right to me stopping at about 25 yards. she gave me the best shot so i put one right through her right shoulder and dropped her where she stood. expired in maybe 5 minutes. didn't know she had a busted leg until i got up close. one lung and half the heart was all that was left of the vitals.

Marlin 336Y 170gr. Core-Lokt

Early muzzleloader season taken this morning.

.50 cal first shot landed further back than I'd have liked but it put him down to the ground. Second shot to the spine in his neck finished the job.

I've got skunked going after blacktail a couple times now, whitetail is a nice change.

Not a huge rack, but a nice 4x3 shape.

Stupid Minnesota opener was 70 degrees out.  Deer were not moving, so I had to work.

Got this:

promptly turned it into this:

And, while I did use a .223, it was out of a bolt-gun.
