Well it's opening day here.  Nothing yet but 4 coons on the corn.  Hopefully going to be shooting a PA10 with leupold vx-r patrol 3-9x40.  If anybody else is in the woods let's see some pics.

Well it was a success.  About 5 minutes after the coon pic this fella stepped out.  I was too tired after dragging it to take any better pics

Lol.  Yeah I know what I'm doing.  There's a few game zone that come in later in the year, but most of the state come in August 15th.

Yeah we have 4 game zones in SC. Zone 3 starts Aug 15th and goes till Jan 1st with no limits on bucks. Game zone 4 gun hunts don't start till Sep 1st, again no buck limit. Zone 1 and 2 starts Oct 11th with a limit of 2 bucks a day and 5 all season.

Nice deer. Looking forward to going out myself as soon as I have time.

Wow Aug 15 deer gun season, in SC of all places.  I'm not sure I'd want to brave the heat and all the other nasty critters that go along with the heat.

Nice buck though...

Thanks. I'll get a box and try some. They obviously get the job done. Pretty good 100 yd groups?

Yeah they group well.  I'm using a Rainer Arms Select barrel, which in theory should be higher quality than the PSA barrel.  After I zeroed my scope I shot a quick 5 shot group which was 1 1/4".  That was with a hot barrel so I'm sure I could do better.

Thanks.  You always gotta remember to check the bottom of the ladder before you climb down.  Rattlesnakes and copperheads have a weird habit of hanging out at the bottom of ladders.  I know of 2 people that got bit that way.

We used to head down to Georgetown for some hot and muggy bowhunting, it's crazy that Zone3 opens gun season in August now

Jealous.

I have to wait till mid October for muzzleloader season (doe only) to open up, for all of a week.. Then Monday after Thanksgiving for regular rifle season.
