I bought the tactical 20" for my wife because she kept using mine (26" varmit) and said it was too long and heavy. Both of them we shoot Hornady 168gr BTHP. In the past 3 years we have harvested 5 good sized deer off our property and EVERYONE was DRT from low neck shots. Never had one even take one step. I have about 800 to reload when the mood suits. Great bullet. Both guns love them.

This ^^^.  They are great.  With the 308 probably the 150 gr-165 gr would work like a charm.

I am going to go against the grain.
TTSX 130 grain Barnes.
It is a stone cold killer.

I've been using Nosler trophy grade 165 grain BTs and have had excellent results. Shot a 10 point and 3 does last year... only one went farther than 10 yards before crashing. The other 3 dropped in their tracks.

I have used Hornady SST 150 Gr and 165 Gr...  Both are great - I settled on the 165 SST because with my POF P308 - I get about 1/2" better group with it as opposed to the 150..
