I cant believe I haven't seen this thread. congrats to everyone on the deer.

pic of my bow buck, I let him walk at least once before while waiting for a bigger buck, the last weekend of the season I didn't let him pass.

vid I took with my phone, I forgot I was filming after the shot and had to get back on him.

pic of my rifle buck, I got him walking into my stand in the morning. I never made it to my stand. this is in a tie of being my best buck ever, ill know after I get him back from the taxidermist. ;)

I also got a little doe with my late fathers 30-30 but I don't have a pic. and I got a nice doe with my muzzle loader that I also don't have a pic of.

one of my best years ever, I got 5 deer and each was with a different weapon.

Nice buck 3n1!

Are the restrictions on the bucks only? Do you have an Earn-a-Buck program or anything like that there?

Thanks!

Yep, no doe allowed in either county the land is on, bucks must be a spike or 13" wide inside spread.

Took me over 15 days (about 30 times in the stand) spread across two years to finally get one :-D... and my wife got a spike on opening day of her first deer season this year, talk about rubbing it in my face lol.

It's my father-in-laws land and she was using her recently passed grandfathers .270 sitting with her dad, so it's only right it happened first.

I did get two decent hogs in the morning... yes I was that guy who took two hogs on opening morning of deer season lol.  Our freezer bit it and we lost 100lbs of the hog I got last year, empty freezer needed filling lol.

Yeah, I went on a freezer filling mission too this year. We don't have hogs, so I settled for 3 doe and a buck. I don't think any of my buddies or me would pass on a hog or two first day either. We have plenty of deer around here and very few restrictions on bucks. How long has your wife been hunting deer?

It was her first time hunting... ever.  But she had her family juju helping her so I blame that lol.  She got the first deer, I got the biggest (ever off that plot of land) so it worked out.

I did the same years ago.  I had never hunted in my life.  Bought a bow on Tuesday (never shot one before).  Didn't get to shoot it till Thursday.   Shot a doe in the ass Saturday morning.   My brother in laws were pissed.  Not many deer around here 30 years ago.

So my girl goes out hunting for the first time by herself last Saturday and was able to kill this monster. He walk right up to her and she took the shot at about 45yds. She was using the 300BLK I built her with my 110 ZMAX handloads. Dropped dead right there with a perfect shot.

What a way to open your deer hunting career!

The next day I was able to tag this buck at 310 yds, 308 suppressed. Again, dropped on the spot.

I shot a buck exactly 30 minutes after sunset and literally was down to the last second to make a legal shot.

I shot him from ~250yds with Tikka T3 270wsm using Winchester Deer Season XP 130 bullet.

I don't own a pickup so I tied it to the roof of my Prius.

The blood froze, I drove the buck to my house and let it sit overnight.
