I do most of my Deer Hunting on my cousin’s place down in the bottom of one of the hay fields overlooking a creek bead. I put up a trail cam just to see what was coming down to the feeder and at what times.
These are from inside looking out of my ground blind.

I’m just checking a few things out.

And these are a couple of pictures of the deer and coons.
Look at the last picture.  Seriously someone was a bad shot.  If she comes around I’ll take her down.

My weekend was successful  Three deer two bucks and a big doe.

First night Buck Remington 870 12ga with accutips at about 85yrds went about 20 yards

This morning, H&R Slughunter 20ga with accutips at 147yrds He made it a bout 40yrds Rut might be over, but this guy was right on the trail of the big doe I shot just before him. It was my first time using the H&R and I can't reload that thing under stress to save my ass. There was cussing and pressing of the wrong levers. Normally I don't get deer stacking up on top of each other so it isn't an issue. I shot four times and started to wonder how it would handle warm bore shots.

Total haul for the day.

Hell I got bit my a musquito in December, WTF?

While not quite as nice as some here, this is my buck for this year...

This is probably one of the biggest I will get in my life... (unless I hunt in a different state/ different type of deer.)

Upstate NY Adirondack white tail:

10pt (guessing will gross about 140/ borderline New York State big buck)
175lbs
3 mile drag

My daughter took her first deer with my AR-15. She took the button buck we mistook for a doe with a Federal American Eagle 50 grain Varmint Tipped ammo. The shot was 109 yards. Deer only ran 30 yards. The bullet entered the front of the shoulder and exited the other side.It took the heart out.http://www.hunt101.com/data/500/medium/IMG_11584.JPG

I finally got on the board on the 23rd. After 4 weeks of hot weather and screwy winds the weather finally cooperated and got back to normal. I hadn't seen anything bigger than a 4 point since opening weekend. With the cooler weather the bucks remembered they were supposed to be rutting.

Larue SPR-e and Bushnell 1-4 will german plex. Farthest shot I've taken with this rifle and ammo was 263yds on a large boar. Dropped him.

The beard is short for this time of year.
