Ham Forum Anniversary Nets:
Digital net, standard time: Digital net @ 00:00z (20:00 ET) See this thread: http://www.ar15.com/forums/t_10_22/653445_Digital-Guard-Channel---Wednesday-Night-Net-7-26-at-0000Z-2000ET------40M-----7114-KHz.html SSB Net 1 hour later: SSB Net @ 01:00z (21:00 ET) Primary ARFCOM frequency: 14.261 Secondary ARFCOM frequency: 14.283 (the above is per reference card v1.22. Let me know if there has been any update to change these frequencies) ************ Hey guys, We are coming up on the 10 year anniversary of the ARFCOM Ham forum! On 8/2/2007, after several years of multiple requests for our own sub-forum, we were finally given what would become (in my opinion) the greatest ham forum on the internet! The first post: http://www.ar15.com/forums/t_10_22/604129_Here-s-your-forum-guys---enjoy-.html In commemoration of this historic event, I suggest we hold two evening nets on 8/2/2017, with one being HF SSB and the other being HF Digital. Or... just shift the regular weekly nets to that night. What do you guys think? |
|
[#2]
8-2-2017 is on Wednesday, same night as the Arfcom Digital Net, FWIW.

Congrats!
A net sounds like a good idea! So, it really was AR-Jedi's fault?! Let's petition to ban him. This forum cost me at least $15,000 in the last 5 years. I would not trade it for all the tea in China though... @ar-jedi |

[#8]
If I can be near the rig, I'd be glad to try HF on the second.
And this IS a great forum, full of knowledge and entertainment! Thanks to everyone for keepin' the pot stirred! Cheers... Jim |

2010, I remember meeting a bunch of you guys on the 80m SSB net
Used to sit at my kids karate practice and play radio, now she's about to start college http://www.ar15.com/forums/t_10_22/639821_Tuesday-evening-80-meter-SSB-net---Now-Tuesday-Evening-SSB-Net.html&page=4 |

Not sure I can reach all the way out to the west coast with my temporary rig, but I can get as far west as KC and North Texas pretty easily. (Haven't put my OCFD back up from Field Day yet. Running a ZS6BKW hoisted up on a not quite tall enough Harbor Freight flapgpole)

What do you guys think about a SSB net 1 hour after the standard digital net?
Digital net @ 00:00z (20:00 ET) SSB Net @ 01:00z (21:00 ET) We just need someone in a good central location to run the SSB net. Any volunteers? As for a band, is 20M still fairly reliable for the East coast guys at that time? |
|
[#18]
I'm pretty central, and 20m is doable, but there's a chance may be busy on Wednesday
If I can reschedule I'd be happy to help. |

Hopefully the bands will be cooperative. Last couple of weeks, they sucked. This weekend wasn't too bad, though. I was doing digital with a guy in Mew Mexico on 20m and 40m was busy as well.
Hope for the best, have your amp warming up. (Wish I had one...) |

Storms pending on Wednesday here in NE IL, but if the weather cooperates, I can assist as well. I'm only working patio portable, though 100W and a linked dipole at 25' is all I have to work with. https://preview.ibb.co/bsEFN5/0728171430_HDR.jpg View Quote |

If I can make it, I will. I'm in the middle of a few renovations around the place, and have two younger kids. Haven't really given the Alpha 78 a good workout yet.

Thanks! Just picked it up for $500. It's the -S not the -SG, but I'm happy. It was from a smoker though, so a thorough cleaning was in order. I figured some outdoor air would help, so I spent most of the weekend using it from the patio. View Quote ** Wednesday night I'm game guys. Come on Olivia, don't let me down. ** |

I can make an attempt at net control for the SSB net. There is still a chance of storms here in NE IL. I'll probably just work from the truck but with a dipole up on the mast.
Is there a preamble I should use, or just a generic one? I'll be logging with the N3FJP net logger. |

Will do. Using:
Primary ARFCOM frequency: 14.261 Secondary ARFCOM frequency: 14.283 |

SSB net is still an hour out. Digital net is starting shortly.

I hear NC almost 100% and the portable station 100%. Nobody hears me though.
Happy Anniversary all! |

It hasn't started yet.
There is a San Diego station on 14.260.0, though. He's been there for a while. Someone on 14.283.0, too, but I can't make out who it is. |

[#50]
From the west coast: Whopping strong station out of Puerto Rico at 14.260. Which freq are you guys on?
