I picked up a new XPR7550 VHF for $300.

Also a supposedly new SGC 230 antenna tuner. I want to put it on the fence and feed the 47 ft vertical with it.  I also got a bag of zip ties cause I had no way to carry the tuner so I zip tied it to my back pack.

I got piss drunk and dehydrated too.

I grabbed an old HAM-IV rotator and controller for $175.  Lol I hope it works since I had no way to test it.  Also grabbed a el-cheapo vhf-uhf mag mount antenna for my HT.

I was hoping for some parts for my FT-1000D, the BPF-1, TCXO-1, or a few filters but I didn't see any despite walking through enough mud to make me think I was back in the army.

All in all had a great time.  Hitting the Air Force museum this morning before I head home.

Those looked delicious. The bourbon chicken at the cajun place was really good. I was impressed by the food options this year.

900 MHz Quantar for $500
40 amp rack mount 12v power supply for $25
2x High power 900 MHz Maxtracs for $35
4 900 MHz antennas
2x 800 MHz Maxtracs (they make good 900 MHz receivers) for $10
Several other random things I'm forgetting right now

I sold a buttload of radios and ended up having only $20 less than when I arrived.

Do you think I like 900?

I picked up a 900MHz Motorola Quantar repeater and eight 900MHz Motorola MCS2000 mobile radios.  And yes, the pork chop sandwiches were awesome!

Nice!  I see we were both after the same stuff.  I also got my Quantar for $500.  I'm looking forward to getting Columbus, GA's first 33cM ham repeater on the air.

There's one 900 MHz repeater around here, but I've literally monitored it for 2 months without hearing a single station transmit. Spent a few weeks IDing every hour.

One of the pillars of my club is encouraging the use of 900. I bought a bunch of radios at Hamvention that will be programmed, aligned, and sold at cost to club members. I had been piecing together a 900 repeater, but after this year I have 1 complete repeater, 1 portable repeater, and about 80% of another one.

Did you get your Quantar from folks originally asking $900? IIRC they said they had 5 of them. What antenna are you going to use?

Last year I picked up a set of cans for 900 as well as a circulator. I have no idea how to calibrate the circulator

I bought from a guy at the American flag canopy tent.  He had two 900MHz Quantars and I bought the first one of his.  That was on Friday.  Saturday I came across a Laird 6dbd omni antenna that looked brand new.  I got it for $20.  That will be our repeater antenna.  I'd like to have on of the giant commercial antennas, but there is no way that I could get that on top of the building that is going to host our repeater.  Also, on Friday actually before I came across the Quantar, I picked up a set of Sinclair 900MHz duplexers for $44.  Now I need to get to work getting all of this stuff working together.  I've looked around on eBay for an UHSO module, but I'm not seeing anything.  Looks like I might have to install a GPS to use for a site reference.  What are your plans for a 5MHz or 10MHz reference?

I got several of those antennas too. Plus a mobile 900 mhz antenna. I'll probably just get a rubidium source off eBay.

Edit - Glad to give Airspy the business as they graciously helped the Ham Radio Team out of a booth assignment nightmare.

An Elecraft kat100-1 tuner for my k2/100.  Bought new from Elecraft they gave me the $25 discount they were offering on the k2 + no tax & free shipping.
Wife bought a led badge she got me to wear in my beard to get attention for the org we were supporting.
She got earrings from Wild Sage & a new shirt with her call sign embroidered.
She also found and bought for me a Radio Boys book.  I like to collect old books,

Good buy. They make great stuff. I use my airspy and spyverter literally 24/7.

Our hotel was about one mile from the site on the top 4th floor facing it. I ran the Airspy Mini and did a baseband record for about 2 Gigs. It was nuts all the signals in the 2 meter and 70 cm bands. I'm gonna go and play it back here later and see what else was in there. We were so close I checked into the Cold War Net on 51.0 using the PRC-6809 and AMTI A-320 amp sitting in the window as if I was there. It was a great fest. They did well.
