Same here.  My wife and I are heading out tomorrow to operate battery portable with a 20m/40m inverted V that I just finished building.  Let's try portable to portable.

I'm in the Kansas City area.

I will keep an eye out.

But the forecast is for rain, and we have 20mph winds--don't think I can get my portable antenna up in that.

Should be on the air in two hours or so.  Will primarily be operating on 40 and 20.   Planning to start out on Arfcom frequencies, will either be using phone or psk-31.

Taking a Yeasu FT-857D with battery, wire antenna, etc... we'll be walking a few miles prior to setting up the rig.

I was able to get out for a while.  My antenna was up in a NVIS configuration, I had an awesome time working 0 to 400 miles on 40M.   Maintained a 45 minute QSO from Kansas City to Springdale Arkansas on 5 watts.  Solid signal, S7 to S9 the entire time.  Distant op turned his power down to 5 also.

No problem to me, it was rainy and windy all day long.  And more of the same today
