Don't really know much about concealed carry. I have read a few forums and took an NRA class but that is about it. I found this pistol at a pawn shop in town for $50. Since I don't know if I will like carrying I didn't want to spend too much on my first carry gun. I have read a lot about it and how unreliable they are but what do those gun snobs know? The sites are a little small but that's not much of a problem. Mags are kind of hard to find but it came with one so it is fine. This is part of my preps to get ready for SHTF. I might buy another pistol in the future but for now this one is great. http://a.pomf.se/hntevp.jpg View Quote |

I'm so glad someone is finally breaking the mold of paying "good money" for a "good handgun". I mean, if it slings one round that's all you need! Who cares if it loads and fires the next round? I sure would rather have a single shot gun than risk being prosecuted for using 17 rounds of 9mm when one round of .25 or .32 would suffice.

Don't bother getting a license to carry that thing or practicing with it. When the SHTF no one will care if you have a license, and you'll be able to figure out how to use it!

Grats on your first carry gun. Now, dont carry it, dont shoot it, dont dryfire it. They are a price point built pistol. Dry firing breaks them. The slide has been know to follow the bullet down range. Yep on sliding forward after a shot, they have been know to keep on going leaving you with a grip and a few innards in your hand. IMO, it is a dangerous weapon for that reason alone. There is a reason it was 50 bucks. IMO its nothing more that a cheap Saturday night special.
Please find something else. If you need to use it, that means your life may be depending on the fire arm in your hand. Quality handguns cost more, but when you need it, you can count on it. Several quality brands like, Smith$Wesson, Colt, Ruger and other major brands of revolvers (not automatics) can be found very reasonable. The Jennings will do one of two things. It will fire and hit some perpetrator, or it will fire and come apart in your hand. Its quite possibly your life, or a family member. Look at it this way. If your 40 miles out of town and in trouble, would you rather have a Baofeng HT or a Kenwood, Yaesu, or any other 1 or 200 watt radio with good antenna? You can find a decent used handguns for the price of a quality multi-band radio. |

OMG! He's got a GUN!
Now, get a Baofeng and you will be ready! |

I think ARFcom needs to have an intervention ! ETA: ACK! THERES TWO OF YOU! |

The neat part is you can leave it out like that, no one will steal it. |

Be back, need to take a pick of my pearl gripped Raven 25.
Actually Ravens were better than Jennings, a family member from the J started the R, IIRC. Never saw this group off topic so bad, LOL. |

If you would have scrimped on that expensive hf rig, you could have gotten a HiPoint in .45acp. Them things will blow a man's arm completely off.

My sister had one of those Puxings years ago, carried it pretty much full time. I don't know if it ever went through a full mag without jamming at least once.
I think there are times and places where a little gut gun is just the ticket but just the same if its a six shooter or whatever, the true condition is useful knowledge. So your perp is the only one wondering if you can get off another shot. We used to laugh at sis' .22 but it really wasn't funny. Now she has a little SP101. Knowing not much about that piece and where the klunks and catches are supposed to be it feels to me like it could use a tune up but at least it goes bang on command. |

I think he is on 14.313 because he's getting ready to do some ... jamming....
Huh? anybody?.... nudge nudge.... It was funny in my head Seriously, I had a Phoenix .22 that the slide broke while firing it. Right along the ejection port. Turned into a single shot. I assumed it was flexing to and binding on the slide rails. It took careful inspection to find the crack when not under load though. The doggone slide would have cost almost as much as the pistol did! I sent that one down the road in a trade deal for a loss... If anyone else has one i still have the spare mag floating around! |

gcw, wouldn't this post have been better with an AnyTone (sp) radio and a Baofeng? (BTW, I have a Baofeng, it was my introduction to BRD, and I've worked 1/2 dozen satellite QSOs with it, wouldn't trade it for the world)
