Cool!  I think I need one of those.    (Pictures self on patio with KX3 connected to IRLP node gabbing on Friday net.)
Can you hit any repeaters in your area?

Cool!

They sure cram a lot of stuff in that radio.

Edit:  Holy cow,  downsize those pictures.

I'm really curious to know what the total FM power output is.  Do you have a power meter?

Cool!

Now if they would just ship my PX3...

The setting for XV1 will only go up to 3w. However with that 3w and my Ed Fong Jpole I talked on the repeater 20 miles south of here.

What they can cram into that little rig is amazing. It's fast approaching blivit status.

I've often wondered about the need for 50 and 75 Watt 2 Meter mobile rigs. Ever since I got into 2 Meters and repeaters, 10, and occasionally 25, Watts was all that was necessary for solid communications. I suspect it's more a marketing ploy than technical need.

High power is for simplex, and the deaf repeaters I run into once in a while.  Comes in handy out west where repeaters are farther apart.

But the repeaters are at 8000ft HI! I can talk pretty much statewide with 5 watts and a decent antenna through the linked systems out here. Simplex is a different matter though.
