I will be operating Special Event callsign N0W this weekend as part of the KS QSO party! I'm planning on operating on both voice and PSK 31 both Saturday and Sunday. If any of you arfcom hams are online spin the vfo around and give me a contact for the log.

Details about the contest can be found here

well, well

ANOTHER club that would like people to join their party but DON'T say a freq range or even a band.

edit:  it's buried in the rules.  How many people are going to make that effort

The ARRL says that almost 65% of all licenses is just a technician class license, with another 25% actually managing to get a General and about 15% are amateur extra's.
It stands to reason that no one would operate a contest in the amateur extra portion of the bands, or the Dx window, which leaves the General Class Portions other then those.

Since most people only has a Technician Class License - it would stand to reason that you would find these people on 10 meters - between 28.300 and 28.500 and on 6 meters between 50.125 and 50.200 Mhz Usb.

Twenty meters between 14.150 and 14.300 Mhz USB

Forty Meters - between 7.200 and 7.295 Mhz - excluding net frequencies.

Doesn't that add up to 105%?

Must be these kids with their new math.

There's going to be 45 special event stations operating all over Kansas from fixed and mobile platforms. Work enough of the to spell out SUNFLOWER, KANSAS or QSOPARTY and get a certificate along with an antique ham radio related postage stamp.

Is EVERYONE in KS a ham?  They're going to need more letters.

OH has just about as many.

Party! Party! Party!

I am impressed. KS had taken over 20m this morning when I was on.

Broke my personal best record yet with over 76,000 points! 694 QSO's and 55 multipliers, DX included Mexico, Puerto Rico, Belgium, Isle of man, Italy, Japan and one station in Eastern Ukraine. Worked every state except Rhode Island and Vermont, even worked Idaho multiple times which I NEVER seem to work.

I need a new comfy chair at my station. This POS hurts after about 45 minutes.

EDIT: I just checked the mail this afternoon. Got my first QSL card from the party today from Idaho and it's postmarked Saturday, the day we worked!

I've got a loops n more dual band loop up about 25' for local QSO's, I haven't even terminated the coax yet. It'll go on my 897D maybe this week. Other than that, all I've got up are Diamond dualband sticks.

Ohio and Kansas play nice, the ksqp folks send out suggestions for helping them out to everyone who sends in a log every year via email. I give a running serial number to those 8landers who QSO and request it for their party to show some love back.
