I did hear Mongolia on 40m RTTY once. Not enough steam power on my end. I was just barely able to copy him. Ya just never know what will pop up, one reason I love this chit!

Bureau card day. Lighter than usual. You guys know the drill for me, seven cards from Japan, and one token card from somewhere else. What's right next door to Japan? Vladivostok. I like this card because it has a Russian sub on it. Looking at his page on QRZ.ru, it looks like he was a squid.

Right after the contest he was chatting with a friend and when they were done I called and worked him. Just me and him 6 minutes after the contest ended, nobody else calling! I believe he also flew there just for the same contest again last year.

A lot of guys here have managed to bag Antartica, but it has been a tough contact for me. In fact, this is the only time I've even been able to hear a station from Antartica.
Here is the really nice part. I had this QSO last May, but the OP said would not be able to send out QSL cards until March (last month), when he returned from his one year stay in Antartica. Sure enough, the QSL card arrived today. How cool is that? One of the first things this Ham did when he got back home to Russia, was send out QSL cards!!
