I just got back from a week and a half long trip to find my mail box contained a few cards.
I like getting new cards and seeing the cards that other people get so I'm just going to post any new cards I get in this thread. I've started a few of these threads in the past, but this will be my "official" QSL card thread.
Please feel free to post pictures/scans of what you have received lately as well.

This week's haul included some very nicely designed cards.

Feel free to add your own!

BigDaddy

I got a few new DX cards this month, but the camera batteries are dead & we are out of AA's at the moment.

raysheen, you finish your vertical install? I may have missed your post.

I'm about ready for a new antenna, just can't decide which yet.

My Swain's Island is my proudest.

PRc 320, 30 watts, working 10 up split and the '320 is simplex.

My fingers were bleeding but I bagged him.

Some old ones..

A lot of those are on 10 meters. The early 90's was FANTASTIC for 10 meters, especially with 5 elements and a KW.

Hmm. I'm originally from your AO and learned CW from W8OUW, Arkley Bruce (SK) near your QSL cards AO. He was a radio operator in the Navy during WW2 and told us stories of copying or sending at 40WPM while drinking coffee and smoking like fiends.

Ooooo Oooooooo!

So proud to make the cut!

I am swapping phones this week and it is eating up my time (currently transferring 1k+ songs to the S5's  SD card) but I will try to post some of the cool old cards I found in a recent SK's collection...is that legit here?

It was hard to get and took me a couple of days.  To get Europe, my observation is I have about an hour or so window in the morning to kindasorta work the grey line.

I still don't have Italy or anything in the middle east.

I received two envelopes today.  The first was from the bureau.  It contained cards from Japan, Japan, Japan, Japan, Japan, Japan, Japan, and Japan.  This is the DX curse of the Pacific Northwest.  Almost all of the DX QSO's are with Japan.

The other envelope contained a card from Fiji.

I really like nice nice clean cards like this one...

I've had a number of cards this year where my money made a round trip.  This was one of them.

This was actually a fun contact.  10W SSB into an end fed 29' wire with single counterpoise.  I was being lazy in my antenna choice, but I still got a 5041 mile contact to Portugal from Washington State.  In this case, it was all propagation and his antenna!

OK Here's the latest crop. Haven't received much lately as most of the ones I sent away I have either gotten back or they were sent to places that I may be unlikely to get one back from. Just picked up another sheet of global forever stamps today. Time to send out another round.

Cape Verde and Mauritius.

Buzz sent along a little note with my card. He has helped me get a few entities and I've worked him as well. As such, I included a little extra for his efforts. He is always very nice to work with and is very quick with the cards.

Since my last post, I have received the rest of my cards for the 13 colonies. Here is a "family photo".

...and the "clean sweep" certificate came as well.

Thanks guys.  I found the study guides (KB6NU's I think) that several have recommended.  Just started looking over them the other night.  I'm still trying to figure out everything on the radio so I can at least listen to it.  I usually just keep it on scan mode.  I faintly heard someone one the other day, but it was too distorted to make out what was being said.  I figure its probably the crappy antenna, so i ordered a new one.  Part of me kinda hopes I don't get in to ham radio too much because I've seen the prices...lol.

I'm sure at the top end it can be expensive. I thought the low end for getting started was reasonable. Cheaper than my guns. Cheaper than my radio control airplanes, and that includes the radios. I don't own a $2,000 ham radio but do a radio transmitter for RC and it only has to go as far as you can see lol.

I've mentioned it before. I have about $800 in station and that includes test study material. So far 35ish countries and the furtherest contact of just over 9,000 miles. So you can do stuff relatively cheap in my opinion.

Oh ok.  Yea, just for kicks I sorted everything in terms of price on one website and there were radios in excess of $10,000.

Once I get more in to it I will definitely have to get with someone who has more experience so they can guide me on what I would need for a simple station.  Right now there is no way I could even afford $800.  I'm in school and I have a 2 year old in daycare so most of my income is spent on those.  One day, I'll be able to afford more, but for now I will work with my Chinese radio and $10 Chinese antenna upgrade.
