I notice on their ordering site, that it includes the components to build it LF, or HF.

How many components are different? Is it just filters? Any way to have both easily, or just build two separate kits?

edit: RTFM... Apparently it's mostly inductors that are different.. So it seems easier to build two kits.

So, I finished my HF kit and I noticed last night that even though I built it for 30/20/17 it will receive and transmit on 80/40/60/30/20/17/15. This just means I have an incentive to put together that bandpass filter I've got sitting on the desk.

The yahoo group says that it's easier to build two kits if you want to cover 80/40 and 20/17, but we'll see.

It is mostly  the filter components and I believe the LF version uses one more divider stage.

You could also just build the HF version and add a Jackson Harbor Press LF Converter to get LF

Here's a question,

Are you using the SoftRocks for Tx?

What kind of amp are you using?

I have a couple amps. For solid state: a 20W K5BCQ designed amp, a ~120W AN762 (sold by CCI), and the final one is an EB104 design that I need to finish building. For tube: a single-tube 572b that puts out about 80W, a three tube AL-811 (about 400W with enough drive), and a twin 5-300z Swan Mark II (cooks birds on the antenna wire).

You need a pre-amp for most larger amps, since the FCC mandates that you can't have more than 15dB of gain. Max single-amplifier power gain for the softrock rxtx is about 20W, then you can put it into a tube amp to really melt the ice off the antenna.
