There’s an Allstar node linking to the Echolink DCF-ARC conference for those who want to come in on Allstar. The node # is 46535.

Are any of you really extra good at figuring out how to configure firewall settings from a Verizon Jetpack to allow me to actually use the radio with the computer to do this awesome fun Echolink stuff in a fashion that is kind of radioish? As opposed to being a glorified conference call from my cell phone.
So far I've figured out how to add the app to Port Forwarding settings under the advanced settings tab on my admin page. When I put in the IP address that shows up when I run IPCONFIG, I get no joy from Echolink. When I put in that IP address that shows under my Jetpack settings Verizon does not allow the changes to be made. Grrrr. I also tried changing it to DMZ, however Echolink was unable to receive that way too. More than likely I'm missing something obvious. It's been a long while since I had to hand configure settings for a computer. It seems like the Jetpack is against me. I appreciate any help. |

View Quote On my IRLP node I had to set up a VPN to take the node on the road with my hot spot. ie: Radio->node radio->Nano->encode and VPN->hot spot->VPN host and decode and place on correct ports->IRLP server->reflector. return trip is just backwards. The encoding tags the bits so when decoded the server sets them on the correct port. Between encode and decode its all just data, and as such it doesn't care what ports its on. IRLP uses: tcp: 15425-15427 network & control udp 2074-2093 audio I'd have to look up what ports Echolink uses. Theres actual echolink repeater owners on here, so I'll shut up and learn something. |

View Quote Still have some tweaking to do with the VPN settings, but it's looking promising. For now the Echolink test shows as a Fail, although the second attempt for both UDP ports succeeded. I'm encouraged enough that I ordered cables to hook the radio up give it a real whirl. See you all on Friday. |

AllStar node 46535 will also carry the net. It’s curently bridging via the EchoLink conference, however, plans are being made to look at bridging to IRLP as is being done with WIN system for better audio quality.
46535 will connect at 5:00 PST. Prior to relinking it will terminate any current connections. So if you want to link to it for the pre-net make sure you do so after that time. |

Well, that's odd. Echolink on the PC comes up with a blank list and no activity. Echolink on the phone says there is no response from relay servers so can't do that either. Harumpf.

Two kids home from college for Fall Break. Family stuff QRM. 73 de BD.

I checked in for a few minutes last night and listened but couldn't break away from family so that I could participate. Apparently someone really enjoyed shooting the MP5 but isn't a fan of the AK.

Ah crap. I'm off a day this week. Saw this bumped up and was thinking you guys were really working to remind everyone. Then I realized today is Saturday and I completely spaced the net yesterday. I think I need to set a reminder in my calendar. Hopefully I'll catch you next Friday.

Good to finally check into the net, downloading echolink was pretty easy to do on the smart phone. I was asking club members if anyone has used it, and almost none had, so now I have to do a little presentation on it for the local club. Sorry couldn't stay long, got kids to supervise.

That looks fake with the green grass.
I wish we would get a snow like that here. My wife is a school teacher and she wants it to snow more than me! |
