Here is the club's website address and near the top you will see our field day video. I am the one with the ginger beard working 20m CW on my Yaesu FT-2000D and Begali paddle. We put up an 80m delta loop and it was very effective. I made (personally) 386 CW contacts during field day.

Thanks, I like the beard although it is getting hot as heck in this summer heat. I am trying to see if we can't use the site for the 160m contest. Can you imagine if we doubled the vertical and put a few beverages out there

Nice video! I especially liked the boatanchor gear. My buddies tried the helium ballon vertical for 160m 2 or 3 years ago for FD ( I didn't make that one) and they had problems with low lift from the baloon at 7000ft elevation. They said it would barely lift all the 234ft 18ga bare wire and they were using a 9' blimp style baloon. We found out later that the higher you go in altitude, the less effective helium is for lifting.

This was a hydrogen filled balloon. I would assume that they used hydrogen because of the high price of helium. But holy Hindenburg I am glad there was no static in the air .
