Yeah, it's a really wide signal just below you.  Not sure what it is.

Here's what it looks like, there's a beep when it starts.

I've got a contestor on .277

can't even make out his call through his accent and speed

edit: how about .281?  also that guy sounded like JA8J but I don't think that's a valid call so that can't be it

call it a draw?  I'll try to come back later tonight when 40m opens and see if I can check into one of the local 80m nets to see if this radio is getting anything to the antenna

Thanks for the heads up. On 15m JT65 I'm hearing a lot of South America, and a little of Europe. With 5w and a 43ft indoor wire loop I'm getting spotted in South Africa. Gotta love when the band is open.

Sorry, no copy on you Brundoggie.  I might have been side tracked by listening in on the nearby 39Ø5 CENTURY CLUB  WAS AND DX NET.  They are on +2000 PSK31.

ETA:  QSY'd to 14.076 to play on 20m jt65 @ 2110Z

ETA2:  Pulled the plug around 0215Z

That's my plan for today (Sunday).

The weather's nice. If I get all my other stuff done I might install the new balun in my antenna.

Also I'll try to monitor the 20m  SSB guard channel, 14.261  for about 10 minutes at the top of each hour, projects permitting.

I'm planning to spend about 3 hours mobile tonight starting around 6:00 PM Pacific.  I'm driving from Vegas to western AZ and am set up for 40 meters on a hamstick / FT-857D.  I may be able to check this thread at the halfway point, but won't be in here regularly.  I'll try CQ ARFCOM as KG7*** Mobile on or around 7213 and 7285.

As soon as I saw your call I recognized it from the Wed night nets.

I was just trying my A-99 antenna on 20m through my MFJ tuner.  Pretty horrible SWR on the feedline, but the radio was happy.

It was a pleasure!
