I keep a similar rod in my truck for emergency fishing sessions.

No pocket fisherman here, but I do own an Emmrod Packer.

Is the emmrod worth the money?

I think so, but I really don't use it much. It's heavy (almost entirely metal) and doesn't transmit vibration like a "normal" rod. I don't see it as a recreational fishing rig unless you're a line-watcher or bobber fishing.

It's damn near indestructible and breaks down to a couple small pieces, which makes it perfect for hiking, camping, etc.

I had one in the 70s. Did not work. Something was wrong with the clearance on the spool. Zebco 202 never missed.

That is what I had. Would handle little fish but the reel couldn't handle any weight. Took it out shad fishing and it couldn't handle the larger fish, ended up pulling in the line by hand.

I have one and my son and I both caught some breams with it including one bigger than my hand at the local park.  We did it just to try it and to prove we could do it.

Had one as a kid, worked but seemed hokey, I  got three zebco dock demons for my kids, reels suck but the rods are pretty good.  I got them for less than 15 each.

Hooked some solid fish on the dock demons.   Great setup for a vehicle 24/7.

Yes. They are great to use when fishing cables through drop ceiling areas.

Yes i have had two. One broke at the fastener which allowed the collapse of the assembly, making it useless, it's plastic, other than that it functioned well. The other contraption is "somewhere" in my house.  A great idea manifested in poor quality materials......cheap.
