I'm starting with very little fishing gear, would like to just buy one rod/reel combo. I will be fishing in small midwest lakes, the Missouri River, and more rarely some ocean bay areas. I'm more interested in eating fresh fish than catching trophies, but fun fishing isn't out of the question. Would like for the total budget to come in under $350 (rod, reel, line, terminal tackle, etc.) Stuff not made in China would be a bonus.

What kind of stuff should I be looking at?

Penn Battle 2 combo 4000 series spooled with 20lb tuf line XP.

I own quite a bit of gear.  I like spinning gear and do a lot fresh water and saltwater fishing.
