Pretty much asked the same thing last year, ( on P2 ) and ended up getting a Penn Fathom 20. Although I did limit some options by wanting a left hand retrieve. May be a bit over your budget, but with some searching, you can probably come close.
A year later, still happy with the purchase. Works great for freshwater striper too  |

Abu Garcia Ambassadeur C3 or C4. They have a good reputation. Just make sure to get the made in Sweden models. The sub $100 round Garcias are made in China I think.

Absolutely... check out the shimano baitcasters..Just perfect, even for a slow troll, they work well.
the C6 is great but also the new models. |
