I'm going salmon fishing in a couple months and have only used loaner gear for this type of fishing, this year I want my own rods. The salmon range from 15-25lbs. Fishing will be off a pier, casting out and letting it sit near the bottom.

My "normal" fishing is inland lake for smaller fish up to maybe 10 lbs so I'm unfamiliar with the heavier duty stuff. I got a deal on some rods so I already picked them up but none of the stores around here carry the larger reels that I've seen used for shore fishing the salmon.

The rods I got are heavy duty 8' casting rods, if anyone could point me in the right direction of what I should be looking for in a reel and what lb line is used for a fish in the 25lb range, I'd appericate it.
