Man this forum used to have some great authors with great stories. Seems like that has died out. Anyone have anything planned?

I agree. It seems the golden age of shtf fiction was 2003-2006. During that period it seemed like a great story was coming out every week.

I miss Halffast and Swindle1984, but Sharkman6 and DCBourone are doing a great job.

I agree that we have slid down the tubes a bit in terms of prolific authors.
There are some good stories on other sites.
I wonder if the ability to self-publish on the net in search of revenue  is causing some authors to go that route sooner than they did in the past when they were floating  particular story to the sites readers before the story was presented to traditional publishers.

edit:
Since folks are posting links to other forums I'll throw up a few

Bingo. Doing a few short stories on a forum was/is a way to practice and get some feedback And also get some name recognition. That all still stands but self publishing makes it possible to do that on a wider scale than a forum with only a handful of members that will read and give feedback

Swindle never finished "From Sea to Shining Sea", did he?

I was really into that story. And it just...  Stopped.

Now I'm reluctant to start reading a story until it's done.

There are also several good stories over at the Zombie Hunters dot org website.  Not all of them are Z related; one really good one is the SHTF story 'The Unwelcome Sign' which is complete but there is also a sequel being added, 'The Unwelcome Development' that is continuing the great writing...

A second vote for the Unwelcome series by ZenGunfighter. I've been switching between those stories and The Soldier's Son as updates come out from both authors.

He's still working on it, albeit slowly, elsewhere.

I don't know if it helps but I wrote a pretty decent book Mountain Hold a while back, it might have been removed for Amazon reasons, but the sequel to it - The Golden Odyssey was just added.

I think there's a lot more writers of PAW fiction nowadays, but they don't post here so much.  A lot of folks haven't got the time they once had. Sharkman has gone quiet, was hoping he'd publish his sequel to Spartan's Last March as he put out a teaser chapter months and months ago.

If Mad Max crossed with Lord of the Rings is your thing, you could do worse than check out Tyler Danann's works...
