 <Groan...> Far too short. UG!

but don't worry about me. Do your own thing.
Link Posted: 3/5/2015 8:05:54 PM EDT
[#2]

--phoen1x: understood, these segments are short/very short by many standards.

But I am not a particularly fast writer, also not a full time writer.  In other words,

doing the best I can, and far from perfect.

GENERAL NOTE, VERY IMPORTANT: phoen1x and others, I ask, as respectfully

as possible, THAT WE NOT QUOTE/LIFT/REPUBLISH this text, or any comments,

except of the briefest kind, in our own/or your posts.  The reasons for this request

are many. Briefly--

1.) in my case this is still a 'rough' draft.  It will be edited/corrected/

improved, hopefully.

2.) IMPORTANT: Amazon and other publishing venues TOS vary,

and are perpetually changing, and out of my/our/your control.  At least one major

self publishing venue has variously said

that if MORE THAN TEN PERCENT of a text is published elsewhere, for FREE, they

reserve the right to price match a story to ZERO DOLLARS.  As in...zero.  I have

no idea how or when this is enforced, but cannot take that chance.  Text searches

are automated, done by 'spiders/search algorithms.'  That means

that if enough of you 'quote' the story elsewhere, or in your own posts,

I conceivably could not make a living at this someday.  I cannot afford to write,

if I cannot make at least a  (modest) living at it, at some point in the future.

It just takes too much time.

Not a natural writer here.

I understand there are many people here, and in general, who 'like/enjoy' writing.

I do not.  I like 'having written.'  After the fact.  But personally find this process

fiendishly difficult.  You are looking at about 1000 hours of work here, so far,

excluding the life which suggested these stories/themes/ technologies/events,

much of that life also very difficult.

4.) Stepping lightly: much of what is written here might, in a long uncertain future,

be..."questionable."  These many statements/quotes from one

and all might someday be considered a kind of database.  I would hope that

all here, and I mean everyone, not just me, would have the chance to modify,

edit, explain, or even delete their own text.

5.) I hope, without being too explicit, that this makes sense.

6.) phoen1x, if this makes sense to you, I respectfully request that you edit your recent

post.

7. phoen1x, you are not the only person who wishes I could write faster.  I wish I

could write faster at some considerable exponent of the readers here.

Sincerely, DCBourone

I think it's a reasonably request.

I plan to quote DC and his characters often...but I intend to do so with links to the book once it has a dollar value.

This new method of proofing and publishing books is awesome for fans...very risky for authors.  I have often wondered what Benjamin Franklin would think of the internet...and what he would do with it.

Processing...
When I was a kid I never scored below the 95th percentile in reading comprehension, but your writing challenges me. It's why I love Injured. It's cross-fit for the brain. It took me a week after the first read to fully process it. TSS isn't the same, but it wasn't meant to be the same. But it is a framework for a conversation and I think that conversation is a lot like Injured. If you look closely.

Comments on Comments:

Going back to many fine comments before the phoen1x note/recommendation.

And no harm, no foul, phoen1x.  And now back to regular comments"

So, going back a day or two, and the first comments after the last UPDATE:

--zoe17, much appreciated, and you have been here for quite awhile.  Assume

that we are just getting started.  Me.  And you.

--BLG, 'balance.'  "balance."  Pretty sure I know where you resurrected that word.

Much thanks, BLG.  "The Kids Gonna Get Some Help"--yes, exactly.  The Gehrs have

been doing this for a long time.  They are always looking for talent.  And talent

is where you find it.  Expect to see this phrase again.  A kind of refrain: talent is

where you find it....

--StimpsonJ, "zero through your nose"  Thank you, StimpsonJ.  And 'Tirranis/Tyrannis'

my response exactly, until as a responsible wordsmith, I googled/wiki'ed.  My

memory said "TY" the interwebz said "TI" woe is me/us.  We are fully squared, ST.

A handshake, someday.  And I see you on the phoen1x issue, and will get there shortly.

St. George, exactly, and redemption, exactly.  Forge that square, StimpsonJ.  And quench

it.

--airsix, much thanks, and from your modest comments I imagine you developing your

own craft/crafts.  A lot of self-awareness in your posts.  More later, airsix.  See below...

--Designated, we are fully squared.  Very pleased to see you.  Counting on your presence.

Maybe a corollary of my job is to make you famous, in a small world.  "The Man Who

Resurrected Injured Reserves From the Dead"--His Name was Designated...

--Lungbuster, those presents are out there, if generally of a more modest nature.  My

friends would hand a good tool to any doctor, medic, pilot, plumber, nurse, electrician,

etc., OF GOOD CHARACTER.  And so on.  The Gehr's have just been doing this for longer.

And have more...'money.'

--Currently, I think the word is "gellid" but I am not sure, and will have to wiki/google

at some point.  Fortunately my SO is a stone brilliant technical writer who finds multiple

errors in published texts.  She will be going over this text at some point, and will beat

me silly, with a smile.

--Former11B, on five hundred pages--my intention is to leak/bleed/inform this world,

just following our life and current events, for several/many thousands of pages.  Spent

the last two years setting things up so I could do this.  Page length of specific stories

somewhat market determined.  This one is...'too long.'--Maximum exposure/sales seems

to be gravitated to 'shorter/cheaper' books/stories.  200 pages for 2.99.  That is not

my style.  We shall see.  Good to see you, Former, you have been here since the beginning.

--airsix...."comes from doin'"--just way sharp, airsix.  Yah, Byron York earned his gift...

--kc215, character development, yes, just writing what I want to read.  Much prefer to

"Know" who is doing what, and why.  Not common in contemporary fiction.  I suspect

my market is narrow, but very deep.  Sylvia will be appearing shortly.  The ATF cop

who escorted Sylvia, and was seduced by Maria Elizabeth, his name is Brian Distrop,

he will be kept forever as an 'everyman' who experiences a severe education.  Assume

that any 'good' person in this story will be maintained...forever.  And have many functions.

Because this story is broken up by my posting style, and retarded speed, I can only say

I hope that when this story is seen intact, it will 'flow'--be read quickly, all names

remembered, in sequence, and so on, this ARFCOM post is now over eight months

old, and who takes eight months to read a story, and remembers every name?  Once

intact, I hope this story is read in a night or two, then read again.  Good

to see you kc215.

--Trapshooter12...just brilliant.  Dragonflies.  Snapping turtles.  Crows, before we

knew that crows used tools.  Blue bottle flies, on targets, and old school pull tab

beer cans, and cow pies.  Bottle caps.  Finding the right angle to bounce your

first center-fire rounds off a bass pond, dzzzzzzz....before you understood how far

that round would go, and maybe kill.  Oh, the shame...then walking that data base

forward into a cruel world. Byron York, The Deputy, Billy Spears.  Common ground.

Nice to meet you, Trap.

--Call2Arms, much thanks for your presence, and regular encouragement.  More soon,

I hope.  This might be slow, but it will be long.

GENERAL NOTE:

NOW UP TO THE PRESENT POSTS, PHOEN1X, STIMPSONj, and etc.,:

--much thanks, Stimpson, we are now in the long past fully squared.  I see no malice in

phoen1x's post, just disappointment, because I am slow.  No harm no foul phoen1x.  And StimpsonJ, understood on quotes, etc., and much thanks my side.  "Very risky for authors..." yes, exactly.  But

must be done.  All risks accounted for, within my limitations.  And on Franklin, yes, he

would have psycho raped the British, and King George.

--2t2/Crash--twitter acount....just brilliant.  Brilliant.  Exactly.  Benjamin F. missed

nothing, while he drank the the finest vintages, and dallied with his French...ladies

of the evening.  Epic stuff, 2T2.

--airsix..."crossfit for the mind"...Ok. Stepping lightly.  Not to offend any like minds here.

But you are very modest.  And severely clued in.  Conscious. "framework for a conversation"

exactly.  A rhetorical question, not to be answered in public: is there any chance you are

a younger mind here?  Without a peer group?  We are mostly 'old''tempered'/other, I see

many pilots and retired warriors and engineers and builders here, and we need curious

minds among the young.  No harm no foul if I have misread you.  Speak slowly, and

carefully, airsix, if I have misread you.  "If you look closely--that is very good language,

airsix.  Nuff said at this time, speak on you own time.

GENERAL NOTE: and now we are caught up, perhaps.  Phoen1x knows who he is, and

will speak up in due time.  No harm no foul, Phoen1x.

GENERAL NOTE: Much thanks to many, who
have found, and advocate for, Injured Reserves. I will repeat here,
then, (master salesman that I am (not)) that Injured Reserves is a kind
of moral guide for the Gehr family, was written by a family member, and
is a text designed to serve many purposes, some of which are beginning
to emerge here. The first third of Injured can be found for FREE FREE,
as the second half of search phrase (DCBourone Amazon The Listening
Room) and that first third should be enough to acquaint one and all if
the the need, not want, to continue reading. Much thanks, all.

"Combat is the control of your adversary in the three dimensions of
space, across the fourth dimension, of time..." (DCBourone Injured
Reserves) Much thanks, DesignatedMarksman...

Ok.

Back to work.

I have an idea that ought'a speed things up!

Let's convert this to a fan fiction project - then, everyone with a negative comment or criticism can contribute to the betterment of the story! Yeah! Yeah!

Er, um . . . forget it. Not such a hot idea after all, huh?

Interesting choice for the patch, Saint George... The real Saint George was a Christian Soldier (achieved the rank of Tribune) in the Roman Army in the 3/4 century who became a martyr for his faith after refusing to offer a sacrifice to the Roman Gods of the time.

The legend of slaying the Dragon was brought back by the Crusaders, George had saved a Maiden who was about to be sacrificed to a Dragon (perhaps a Nile crocodile). It was the interpretative art of that time that turned him into a knight on a charger lancing a Dragon, the imagery we associate with him for the past millennium.

So, very interesting choice for the patch if it is indeed Saint George... Identifying the Gehr’s with a Soldier, who put principle and faith above orders and unjust authority from the empire he had served with distinction, a Soldier that protected the innocent and was willing to die for what he considered the truth and the only Soldier that could slay the despotic, tyrannical, evil Dragon.

Symbolism, it’s not just for “Coexist” bumper stickers.

ETA: Forgot to mention that Saint George was a Soldiers Son himself.

Checking in whenever I can.  Huge thanks to everyone here who is keeping

this post alive.  Should have a few evenings this week to catch up your

posts and edit update, about 1550 words so far.

--I see that many, or all, understand Maria Elizabeth Velasquez Gehr.  She

is....eccentric? Stepping lightly, I hope....But she is our friend.  And as

many have noticed, she is a big girl, and appreciates melee weapons.  I hope

to give her a lot of work, over the years.  She was schooled by her brother,

and her brother's family, and they were schooled by the composer of Injured

Reserves, and consider him a friend and associate and await his timely return.

(That would be Book Three, as planned so far.)

--Deeply encouraging to see this post(s) live.  Suspect my market is narrow,

but deep.  Thank you to the deep, what a shame for the narrow.

Consider this: Billy's memory of "words of his

father"--the words italicized, and a book of its own.  A pretty decent

task sheet, that, if one had time to think, and practice what they thought.

--Ok, working on update.  Back at it.

I am exceedingly glad that Maria Elizabeth Velasquez Gehr will play a prominent role in this cautionary tale. As a son, brother, husband, and sadly once a Father, women have always been a North Star of worry, concern and comfort.

Throughout human history the protection of females has always been an Achilles heel to many a male. However in the times we are confronted with, the  true facts are that women are often made of sterner stuff then we men are, yet we still worry.

There are numerous examples of women exceling in the profession of arms from the old Testaments Deborah to the pagan Freyja of the Valkyries (the choosers of the slain) whom everyone in modern times has an inkling of, thanks to Wagner.... Not to mention the classical Amazonian Penthesilea who fought in the Trojan wars which passed into Greek Mythology and legend which permeated western education till revisionists decided education was about control of cultural destinies.

Even western cultural mythology is full of martial females from Andraste who inspired Bodecia, Scathach who trained my own Cuchilainn, Joan of Arc, Jeanne Hachette of my Norman ancestors bloodline, to the recent Margret Thatcher the PM of my days in the maroon machine, as a cog in the green machine.

This what we may take comfort in - men are born to women, we live and die in their arms, comfort and strength is found in their presence, forgiveness too, but it IS for them and the children that they bear that we elevate our spirits to strive for a better land than our Father's knew.... Peace, prosperity, opportunity, kindness, compassion, the past few generations of men have failed in this, the moral compass is swinging wildly and the horizon has tilted.

So, back to your tale....Having a strong, capable female such as Maria Elizabeth Velasquez Gehr (reminiscent of her maternal ancestors and predecessors in human history) is a comfort to all men who revere women and fear for them... Because as men, we know what men are capable of...

Your coment reminds me of a recent experience that concluded a 40 year lesson. I saw the movie "True Grit" when I was a kid, probably 10 or 12. If you'd asked me then what it was about I'd have said "It's about a Texas Ranger named Rooster Cogbern, a man with true grit!"

I watched it again as an adult and slapped my forehead. No, True Grit is a story about a young lady named Mattie who has true grit.

DCB, One of the things I appreciate about your writing is the inclusion of and deserved respect toward strong women. It is not pandering  or patronizing. I take note of this. Your portrayal of the characters demonstrates a genuineness of respect.

I bring up Marie Elisabeth, to say I believe she is Billy boys Guardian Angel. Yes her propensity for "melee" weapons is noted, but surely you can see that such a weapon is fine in the one on one hand to hand combat, not so much with a group, you see? That gal has the boys back. And  Tim B. ain't doin nuthin on his own. El Sid he thinks he is I'm thinkin'. He'll get reinforcements from south of the border, plus what he has left of the old "posse", such as it is. I doubt that the Camo clad cowboy in the road will let many reach the gate, Texan appreciation being what it is....ugh..thought I heard a gobble. Better sit back down under this tree. .  And see,,,,,

UPDATE FOLLOWS COMMENTS ON COMMENTS:

Hope I don't miss a beat, or comment here.  This thread now long and complex,

many fine voices speaking.  My long ago hope. And now I get to see it happen.  General Note

within a General Note: please take care of your health.  Be rude, if you see a loved

or trusted one slipping. Paleo used to be called Weston Price.  Interval training

is better than marathons.  Regular fasting is good.  Yoga saves joints.

You are obligated to save your body because your body is the platform

for your brain.  And your brain is the platform for your values.

Absent the values here your children will be slaves.

You follow me?

Slaves.

I see you understand.

Four months ago we lost a big talent.  He didn't follow

some basic rules.  Got fat, and his heart blew up.

No replacing him, his database, his wisdom.

He got lazy.

And dead.

Glad I took a lot of notes.

Now watching a family member crash and burn.  She will take

out a legacy.  She didn't follow the rules.  Long subject(s).

Briefly: Paleo is old science.  Ok, now eggs are OK???  Fuck you for being late,

and bribed, you fucking shills...at gov.com. Just FFFF.  The stories I could write...

Rant over.  Now back to our regularly scheduled programming, going back to...

--Former11B, 3/06/2015,....on 'fan fiction' much thanks, Former11B, early early voice

here.  Apologies in advance for my regular absence.  Much appreciate your vote of

confidence.  All I can say at this time is that two years of prep have gone into this,

and I don't do quit.  More on the way, Former.

--BLG, another early riser, and much thanks.  Indeed.  We're all just getting started.

--greyguy, "slow is smooth" etc.  Yes it is.  Very please to see you, Gr.

--2T2/Crash, much thanks.  Wish I were faster.  Tuning the dial on a vacuum tube

radio is still a time consuming process.  The stories are already 'seen' but not...

transcribed.  The transcription is the problem.  Now an amateur.  Some day?

A professional.  Working on that.

--Trapshooter12--"loved my job.  Just hated the work."  Just stone FFFing brilliant.

Can I borrow that????  Just...exactly.

--TriumpRider, much thanks Triumph.  Yes these will be big fat books.  Trying to figure

out how to warn non/Arfcom devoted readers they might need a thesaurus.  Problem

for another day.  Short of death, (mine, unlikely ) we are just getting started.

--RadioHack...just FFF dude.  I need another book on your posts.  Perfect read on

St. George.  Exactly.  And a "soldier's son"...exactly.  St. George is a penultimate

example of a warrior sacrifice.  A handshake, Radio.  Nuff said at this time.

--airsix, we see you.  Good read on Radio/St. George.  Awesome.  Perfect resolution

on this thread, airsix.

--heron163, yes on Tyrannis, had a reason for "TI" based on Roman/Latin script,

but it does not stand up to scrutiny.  "TY" is correct, in this domain.  Good eye, heron.

--RadioHack on airsix, yes, exactly.

--airsix..."too much information"...brilliant.  Nosebleed laughter my side...

--Mongo73, Simo, much thanks.  Not a Russian, a Finn.  Read pretty much everything

I can find on Simo.  Tiny little dude, just iron sights, getting as low as he could...

A precision god.

--StimpsonJ, St. George was a marker for epic talent and values. RadioHack nailed

it.  The St. George motif/history will be a constant in the Gehriverse.

--Lungbuster, on RadioHack/St. George/ect.--Wiki is a good start, as you have

probably found.

--RadioHack, Giles Morgan et al. just you don't miss much, do you???

--Lungbuster, RadioHack is a Librarian.  So are we all.  But I suspect Radio

might have a really excellent library....

--2T2/Crash--the BAR in action, yes, Lou Parson and Maria.  And the BAR, ( modified )

will be a constant for the Gehrs, across many books, as a practical, and reverential,

object of destruction.

--BLG, perfect read on Maria and the BAR.  Yes she knows exactly where they are all

stored.

--Piddler, you did not miss a thing.  Maria Elizabeth will have a great deal to do with

Tim Bassinger's continuing education.  Ripping out Tim's throat would just be...

a little too fast.  He might need to reflect a bit, if you follow me.

--2T2, beautiful broad with a BAR...and an entrenching tool.  Yep.

--airsix, exactly.  Entrenching tool: a tomahawk, with leverage.  Sweet.

--greyguy--maybe inside six/ten feet a small shovel beats the world.

--Piddler--"posting in General Discussion"--good eye and much thanks, Pd.

So far this method is very organic.  Like meets like.  I see many friends here.

If this goes well, I have a lot of hands to shake.  Also want to respect TOS

ARFCOM.  Long complicated subject.  As a matter of pride, and long Pattern

Recognition, I will probably post no reference in General.  But if I get up to

speed, and provide full value?  You will.

--Trapshooter12, much thanks and watching closely.  I still have a lot of work

to do, to provide full value.

--RadioHack..."Deborah to Freya" Ok, Radio.  I wish you were doing this, because

you have a better version of my library.  I have one other woman to step into

this world.  She is in this installment/update.  Synchronicity rocks.

--sixgunner455, good to see you again and nail the new job.  You have been here

a long time.  I am paying attention.  Speak up on your own time.

--airsix...True Grit/a young girl named Mattie, just FFing exactly.  Brilliant book

and brilliant movies, both of them.  Just FF that was a hard world.  Serious women:

I've known a few.  Long complicated subject.  Not politically correct.  Have a few

in my life.  Love them to pieces.  Trust them to the limit.  The ones I know...have

some unusual qualities.  Nuff said at this time.  Good voodo on the future: one of

those women will show up...here.  I scripted her two years ago, along with Maria.

--BLG, on Maria, and melee weapons, and Tim, don't be so accurate that you end

up with a giant list of...spoilers!  No harm no foul, BLG.  You are pretty much on

the mark.  Punch a turkey for m----

Excellent! Thanks for the update and conversation, DCB!

So, a little secret.
I'm having a race with you.
I work on projects.
I race you to see how many projects I can complete between updates.
The projects I choose can't be too easy. That would be cheating.
And they have to be projects befitting the cause of liberty.

Between Nov/Feb I picked up a pretty good lead, but in Feb you closed the gap.
So I picked up the pace again and we've been neck-and-neck for a month.  I love it.

GENERAL NOTE:  All ( generally ) well my side.  Took a hit in the peer group

a few months ago, ailing parents.  Normal stuff.  Nothing we/us/all have not

and will not experience someday.  Only relevant here in terms of 'pace'--

and I'm trying to pick up the pace a bit.  Might have to make a trip in a month

or two.  If the pace lags, my SO has my keywords and will post on my behalf.

You would all like her much better than me.  I do.  And yes I understand the

rules...so maybe...someday.  An exceptional woman.

--Former11B, much thanks brother.  "Cool drink"--yes and best appreciated when

we are severely dehydrated, yes?  Assume that short of death I will be doing this

for another twenty years at least, although slower than we all would like.

--Piddler, much thanks for your patience.  "Another alpha female and Texans being

Texans..." Exactly.  The alpha is a known quantity in my world, like Maria.  Everyone has been

very 'tolerant' ( How We FFFing Hate That Word Now, Which Does Not Mean What

It Used To Mean...Like So Many Other Words, Just FFFFF ) of Maria, who I, and

she, would argue was born that way, and is still adamantly on our side, and

a best companion in a Fight.  This other alpha female is one of the last characters,

like Byron York, that I hope to introduce and bleed into multiple books over many

years.  NOTE WITHING A NOTE: Many of you will have noticed a spark of consciousness in the gamers, hackers, social libertarians.  The brightest among them are becoming very

very suspicious of authority.  They are our friends, someday.  A long path, for all of us.

The new alpha female is named Binary Code, and yes, it is a legal name change.

She is severely pissed off.  Her father was a soldier.  She is a Soldier's Daughter.

With many skills....more of her in the next installment.

--Designated/Marksman, I owe you, and you will be a regular reference here.

And I'm talking decades.  Much thanks and I will carry your water someday.

--BLG, bust a bird for me, spit the shot out into a coffee cup, or a napkin, or down

on the floor, and much thanks.  Goodread on Tim and his path.  Sam is weak and I have no patience for weak characters but he will be a constant, lurking in the background, because Binary

will be his shepherd.

--airsix, pretty sure the conversation is just beginning.  Your projects, please let us

see them someday, on your clock. "That would be cheating..." Exactly.  But trust

me: don't let the perfect be the enemy of the good.  A minute to minute war my

side.  My best is a sentence a day, tortured through all possible phrasings.  I don't

have the time.  We don't have the time.  Markets don't have the time.  Things are

moving pretty quickly now, airsix.  Over to you.

--Warhawk, much appreciated.  "Not flexible enough"--double appreciated.

--Trapshooter, I will have to use it.  Seriously thinking, among many tasks, about

best locutions/phrasings in these many diligent posts, and making sure they

find a place in these stories.  All writers assume they must plagiarize the best

voices among us, condense those voices, arrange them in new ways.  I am

most certainly a serial plagiarist: a tiny residue of Thomas Paine, and Jefferson,

and Emily Dickinson, and Dickens, and Shakespeare.  Keep it up, Trap.

GENERAL NOTE: pretty deep into next update, and many many tens of thousands

of words spread through next three books.  Should have a new installment next

48/96.  Much thanks all.

GENERAL NOTE: Much thanks to many, who have found, and advocate for, Injured Reserves.
I will repeat here, then, (master salesman that I am (not)) that
Injured Reserves is a kind of moral guide for the Gehr family, was
written by a family member, and is a text designed to serve many
purposes, some of which are beginning to emerge here. The first third of
Injured can be found for FREE FREE, as the second half of search phrase (DCBourone
Amazon The Listening Room) and that first third should be enough to
acquaint one and all if the the need, not want, to continue reading.
Much thanks, all.

"Combat is the control of your adversary in the three dimensions of
space, across the fourth dimension, of time..." (DCBourone Injured
Reserves) Much thanks, DesignatedMarksman...
Ok.

Random quotes that have jumped out at me after the latest update, pointing in the same direction as this story and our world is moving.... (plus some private twists of fate that have made me think).

"Of all the liars in the world, sometimes the worst are our own fears.”  - Rudyard Kipling

“So few want to be rebels anymore. And out of those few, most, like myself, scare easily.”
Ray Bradbury--from "Fahrenheit 451"

Silence in the face of evil is itself evil: God will not hold us guiltless. Not to speak is to speak. Not to act is to act.
- Dietrich Bonhoeffer

And the best and most appropriate for last -

“Habent sua fata libelli et balli
[Books and bullets have their own destinies]”
- Ernst Jünger, Storm of Steel (I would recommend this book to everyone).

Don't buy the Kindle version. I just purchased it to read and although the description says it's in English it is really German. I submitted a refund, hopefully they get the translation resolved, the book sounds interesting.

What a bummer too.... I really enjoy WW1 books.... I'm blaming RadioHack for my blue-balls.....

I like the ominous pace the story has taken.

One word, I don't know why it struck me. It didn't the first time; on the second read one word stood out. A synopsis of everything Tim was taking in, what he felt, how this new dynamic, this new reality, struck him....

implacable.

Not to be appeased, inexorable, unsparing, unforgiving.

Perfect, I love it. You are gifted more than you give yourself credit. As it us with all of those with a God breathed gift, it's natural to them. They can't see the beauty of what they've created because to them, it's natural. Of course that's how the song would go, the painting would look, the word would be used.

Keep on.

Update follows comments:

--RadioHack...and his quotes.  And his library.  I am so paying attention.

A better library than mine.  And well studied...well done, Radio.

"Of all the liars in the world..."  Fear.  Fear is the mind-killer.  But fear is also

our Distant Early Warning System.  Split the difference.  I have.

"Rebels...who scare easily"--Exactly. If you have the imagination to understand

how dangerous our world really is, how precarious, how ephemeral, that very

same imagination will paralyze you with negative outcomes.  So, sorry...harden

the fuck up.  Remember your heroes.  And carry on.

"Not to act, is to act."  Exactly.  First words in a world of cowards.  I don't see

any cowards here.  This fight has been fought before.  It starts with information,

language, and lies.  I don't see any liars here.  Nuff said at this time.

"Books and bullets have their own destinies"--I hope so.  Good ffing job, Radio.

--Lungbuster, good to see you, and much appreciate your attention to Radio, who

is a Librarian.  And you, seeking and understanding WW1 history. Just...astounding.

Good job, Lungbuster.  Peer deep into that war, or any war, and you will find The Devil playing both sides. Nuff said at this time.

--zoe17, much appreciate your patience.  You are very quiet, but very loyal.  I think

you might have more to say.  On your clock, zoe17.  Speak up, on your own time.

--Pfunkk, "implacable"--exactly.  A remorseless machine is grinding us.  It will not

quit.  That machine considers our founding documents to be aberrations in the long

history of man.  They are accustomed to Kings, Lords, and slaves.  Let's prove them

wrong.  A long bet.  We shall see.

--Pfunkk, on "gifted"--a long subject.  I have some technical skills which I allude to here./

I have considerable confidence in 'technique/practice"--that does not mean I 'know' that

I will succeed in this domain.  But you will understand I have very high standards.

We shall see.  If I do well enough, I will expand on this subject, Pf.  And...Thank.  You.
