I posted a review, all positive.
Unfortunately, I'm probably too old to see the sequel.
Cheers.

GENERAL NOTE: comments on comments below and...
apologies for not attending this the original thread.  Distracted.  Ahem.
I will leave continuing discussion of exogenous events to the general forum, but yeah
this is fffffing serious, the pricing mechanism/valuations for EVERYTHING EVERYTHING
have been destroyed, a low trust society is now zero/negative number trust, and etc.

GENERAL NOTE: I have been trying to maintain some attachment to the thread in GENERAL--
my link-fu is weak--search "ar15.com Post Apocalyptic redneck revenge porn"--and STj and
others have been max helpful there--the General Forum thread will be maintained as a book
and relevant artifacts (meaning....knives) and I will eventually be posting individual threads
on other artifacts, beginning with an "original" as in the action only, Sharps falling block
Meacham conversion, rebarreled with a 45-90 Douglas heavy barrel, that would have been
an 1870/s Gehr Waffen worthy project.  This rifle was probably the single best gun deal I have/will
ever make, as I could not possibly afford a "real" Sharps Old Reliable, but it now has zero
collector value, and was sold to me for pretty much a fraction of it/s market price by a good friend.
And I am going to shoot the grooves out of it over the next ten years.

--STj I get the Bagwells and even the guards for fencing/trapping and/but who the fuck does that?
If you have a workable solution to the S-guard/bolsters/pinning that would be amazing but
day-um what a shit ton of work.

--STj the sword/s fascination yes will never go away.  Any vaguest study of original hand-made
dimensionally and structurally sound "swords" cannot but amaze.  I still cannot find any
discussion of metallurgy/manufacture for Roman Gladius/derivatives, what kind of iron/steel,
who made and where, the workshops/smiths/etc.--and they were made presumably in...
the low millions?  For hundreds of years.

--texas/shark all I need for your next book is....five years?  Ok, maybe...seven?  You can do it.
I know you can.  In fact...you must!

--Designated!!!!  Yes STj really stepped out...as usual.  And a window into the future...

--greyguy STj is plotting the future of insignia/tokens/validators and etc.!

--BigDam--since Jan.17 book has sold almost exactly 200 copies.  At least 35...? of those
"don't count" because they were promotional "arranged"--but still this is actually "not bad"
given my shitty promotional skills/timing/general horror at the PR side of all this.  A work
in progress that is.  More interesting: about 45 copies have been "borrowed" by Kindle Unlimited
members--this is actually the market I need "badly"--and judging by the number of pages read,
it seems that the borrowers are reading the entire book (although I am just guessing, the Big River
does not allow you to know that data).

GENERAL NOTE: .re BigDam/s question: the math is actually "Ok plus" here--I live on practically
nothing.  My SO is the big earner, with the big expenses.  So...I think it is "very likely" that with
even with my retarded promotional skills, I can eventually get to 10 sales a day.  I make about
3.40 per sale, and about 4.00 for "Borrows" THAT READ THE WHOLE BOOK.  So at ten borrows/sales
a day, I would make around 900.00 a month.  That buys a lot of gas, bullets, powder, primers.
Of course eventually I will be an Instagram "influencer" and make millions from Gehr Waffen lingerie,
eye shadow, and condoms.  Gehr Waffen condoms are of course indestructible because they are
made of STj forged damascus, angel hair, and coin silver, so they are reusable.

--BigDam I would just like to say the Gehr Waffen condom series of female
life enhancement devices takes advantage of all the most contemporary
advances in engineering, fashion, and intimate hygiene.  It is designed
to never fail the woman in your life.  We also have a variety of leasing
options available.  She will not be disappointed.  You will, as I am sure
you understand, need to sign a waiver should she decide you're services are redundant.

--GreenGiant, 120, 240, gas, and steam powered models are available.  However,
allow me to recommend the diesel powered Mongol Pulsar Hydromatic, which includes
a General Electric AC6000Cw 4,500 Kw engine repurposed from the Gehr Waffen gates.
It is sure to satisfy.

--Designated, we have oil and charcoal, "Burned Hair" is quite popular, and I hear that customer
feedback on "Granulated Bone with Accents of Tooth Enamel" has been very positive.

--DFarm, two stroke, 3-in-1, and transfer case lubricant with graphite lingerie are all equally desired
by our most discriminating clientele.

--biere, we have been working on a solar option.  Are you amenable to a consulting position?

--Coontrapper--RESEND.  Need update your situation.

--mnmiv, good to see you and keep us/all updated.

Much as folks say clutter can wind up owning you, either you own that truck or it owns you.

I will admit to leaving my 2017 alone so far, cheapish grey man vehicle, just cause it does what I want and I consider it transportation and lockable storage and for the most part it did that from the factory.  I guess bolting some decent cables and chains in for securing things may happen but it is nothing compared to dismantling dash.

I'm usually a pretty optimistic guy. I've been finding that difficult lately. State shut downs, my city making mandatory mask orders when outside of your home (violation is a misdemeanor crime), and riots within three miles of my house will do that I guess.

I find myself wantIng to relocate but I don't think anywhere is really safe at this point.

Link Posted: 7/12/2020 2:44:07 PM EDT
[#40]
For most folks who live outside of the areas that are "hot" right now I think relocating is just safe(er) for the time being. If things really go sideways it will probably effect everyone, especially those who don't live hundreds of miles from anywhere.

Isolation sounds like a safe bet but history has shown us that we are supposed to be in groups. As a semi recent example, see ferfal's blog entries about what went on at the isolated rural farms in Argentina when the wolves came knocking.

As someone who lives in a very small town but is less than two hours away from what was the CHOP/CHAZ in Seattle, I have been thinking about this subject a lot lately.

Aye! I have.  If it is "chance", Life is beginning to Imitate Art a Bit TOO Closely!  The similarities between DCB's "fiction" and Reality were already there and Lebanon isn't exactly the Sinai Desert, but Damn, it sure is geographically CLOSE!
