I know most of you will raise the BS flag but the following is 100% true.

The boss walked up to me yesterday and asked if I wanted to take the day off to go on a late season elk hunt with him today. Late season hunts are cow only on private land with landowner permission.

We showed up right before shooting light to watch a herd go over the top of a ridge,so we devised a plan to work through some timber to cut them off and hopefully ambush them. The boss and one of his buddy's went one direction and one of my coworkers and I went another to attempt a pincer move and catch them between us.
We were working our way through the timber and walked up on this little guy taking a nap,no shit the son of a bitch was sound asleep and we walked right up to him and got this pic before he woke up wondering what the fuck..

We also jumped four very nice bulls at 100 yards about 15 minutes later. All together we saw around 30 bulls today but were never able to catch up with the cows we spotted first thing in the morning.

Let the photoshops begin (abused) My coworker is not very good at pics and only took the one :/

Crikey!  Look at THAT!

It's a brown, antlered North American Elk Python.  Danger, danger.

What I'm going to do is take my thumb, and jam it right up its ass.  Boy will that piss him off.

If my skills were better, I could upload a vid of a calf elk we walked right up on.  Hunting elk is incredible.

I love the little critters as they haven't developed a fear of people yet. I had a whitetail fawn walk up to me while I was sitting watching a clearing,I could have tickled it's nose it was so close

I once sat in a tree for 17 days.  On the 17th day a giant, white wolf walked by and I jumped on it's back and rode it into town.

This is many years back but maybe 15-20min or so before legal shooting hours I had a couple of does walk across/step over my outstretched legs so yeah, things happen out there.

Not sure what sort of weird time warp I just walked into with the necropost, but I'll have to say this is sigline material, and in the running for the post of the year.

A guy at work says he had a small bull elk walk up to him, press his nose against the quiver on his bow, and push him back a couple of times trying to figure out what he was.

I believe him.

That's awesome!

I was hiking the trail back up to where dad was waiting for me in his jeep one hunting season.   Heard a noise behind me, I kept moving up the trail,  but glanced behind me.  I had 2 whitetail does following me up the trail, the little darlings weren't more than 15 or 20 feet behind me.
