I have a Husky MZ61 that I use for about 7 of our 12 acre property. I have mixed opinions on it...

Good:

Decent ground speed

Kawasaki engine (do not, I repeat, DO NOT buy the Briggs Endurance based one)

Fabricated deck

Better Hydros

Bad:

Mine has leaked hydro oil since day 1, and I cant find the leak. Dealer is of zero help.

Battery has a constant drain. Cant find it. If it sits more an two weeks, its dead.

John deere z425. Good speed at reasonable price. All lawn mowers are disposable after 4 or 5 seasons in my book unless it is commercial quality.

I have a 2010 Scag with the Kawasaki engine. Very high quality and very reliable.

Do yourself a favor and check out a Ferris.  I bought a 61" in 2012, and it has around 300 hours of completely trouble free service.  I have done nothing but sharpen blades and change oil.  The main drive belt started to go at 200 hours and I caught it before it failed, but it was an easy fix.  I Tried a scag and exmark before I bought the Ferris.   I mow my own property weekly (7-8 acres), a couple of rental properties, and a church.  I couldn't be happier.  Personally, I would get a used commercial unit over a new residential unit due to the quality of the hydro pumps.

The main thing is to get hydros that can be serviced.

I have a Toro Titan with a 48 inch fabricated deck and a Kawasaki motor. I like it just fine, but if I had to do it all over again I would look at one of the models with some sort of suspension system. It doesn't matter how fast you can go if you're being bounced off the mower.

I have a Gravely 60" HD.  Fabricated deck.  This thing is a beast, and I can cover some ground with her.  I've been running her for, on my 4th year now.  Paid around ~$4,500.   Have been very pleased with it.

Found a 2015 Gravely Pro-turn 160. Kohler EFI and 60" deck. It was a demo unit with 42 hrs on the clock-sold as-new with 3 year residential warranty/life on the deck. Commercial grade with weight adjustable seat.  $6700 delivered w/no sales tax

Thanks for all the replies! Now it has to dry up so I can give it a go!

Check the oil pan where the lower oil pan bolts to the upper pan. Just had one that had a oil leak where it would run and be fine but as soon as we shut it off it would seep out from the RH side

Look for a used Kubota, I bought a 2010 ZD331 new, was a huge investment but it cut my mowing down from a all day affair to 1.5 hrs.

I did the same thing, except I bought a ZD326 with the commercial 60" deck.  It's mowing machine!  I've added a canopy to mine.
