How so?  More nimble or what?

I have heard critter comforts aside 1850 would give a 4430 a hard time, a MFWD 46' should walk over either with ease.

Tbh I don't think the tires are pressurized right on the 4650 for that disc. Even in 4wd she likes to hop skip when you have the disc bottomed out, then again I do like to run a little too fast through a field sometimes without meaning too

This is a old pic of it hooked to the plow....back when it still ran like it was supposed to Mack R for scale

You have ballast in your 4650 tires? If they're empty, they tend to make for a rough ride.  Also...radials, or bias-ply?  Radials always gave us a better ride but cost more.

I think their radials, the inners and the front's are new, the outters on the rear are the old ones that still had enough life in them when the machine was bought. As for ballasts I have no clue, I wasn't there the day the tech came out and put them on and don't know if their was any in them to start. Still, less then 4k hours on it doh so who's complaining

Anyone know of a source for one of these or a similar piece of equipment in the US?

Inners kinda look small.  Both in relation to the fronts and the outers.  May just be the perspective too though.

Howdy all. I was sent here by S2S.

New "tractor" owner here. Wife and I have been doing small animals and birds for about 5-6 years, and we just closed on a new 20 acre property, with a small hay field. The need arose to get a tractor and hay equipment, and I was looking for a Ford 3930, 4630, or 5030.

Found a smoking deal on a 3930 that was local (all the others were 2.5-4 hours away), and I jumped. It had some goofy turf tires from being used by a parks service (IIRC), so I had to get all new ag style rims and tires. Went with 14.9-28s in the rear, with 7.50-16s up front. Made a HUGE difference.

I got to work her for the first time yesterday. I hauled it over to the new place, and after I unloaded it from the trailer, I got my truck and trailer stuck in the mud (it's been a muddy mess up here for weeks). The ole girl pulled the F350 and trailer out no problem.

Pushed some snow around the MIL's place, once I got the little Cub to start.  I'm starting to think a heated garage would be the only real answer...

Serviced the Kubota and changed the transmission fluid.  It didn't look too bad but I also replaced the hydraulic system filter and

Took 5 gallons of fluid exactly.  Think the total capacity is about 7 gallons so there must be about 2 gallons left in the hydraulic system.

Hydraulic system filter next to the new one

It's a Kubota L2350DT.  Not sure of the hours because the hour meter had stopped before I got it and I had to replace the tach/hour meter but somewhere around 1000.  The previous owner maintained it pretty well but use it pretty hard.  The oil still looked good when I drained it but I'm really glad I put the new filter in!

There are a few pics of the tractor in use earlier in this thread.

I rebuilt the loader cylinders so decided it needed new fluid.

Well, I haven't used it for anything yet but I've finally got a tractor. I haven't used it because my wife @Naamah has threatened to stab me if I go off on the tractor before we finish moving. We just picked up 65 acres in rural Georgia and the property came with a John Deere 3038e. It came with a harrow, bush hog, and a plow. I have a feeling I'm going to get some use out of this thing. Make sure you get one heavy duty enough to handle wood and trees. Can't tell you how many times I've seen someone take a lightweight into the woods just to come back missing the stump jumper and the gearbox hanging

Plan is an EA extreme duty. Even then it's a previously planted forest with rows of stumps so the first couple times it will be an extremely slow process of finding every one and avoiding them

Personally you might want to inquire about renting a tracked bobcat with a brush cutter if that's the case. That's how we clear paths that are logged out and it does save time and headache.......plus it can reach up and clear out any overhang. We just got tired of renting one and bought one used but hardly abused

IT spent a good hour in the ditch, took the little tractor and a 6610 Ford to pull it out XD

Operator forgot the ditch is almost 7 foot deep where it turns 90 degrees

Excavators are pretty cool for taking out trees.

I had some not overly huge ones on my terrace, when he had a hoe out to put the sewer in asked if he could rip the trees out quick while it was there.  Maybe up to a foot in diameter.   He drove up to them and just reached over and plucked them out, it was awesome.

No pics, but I used it to haul almost 800lbs of corn in 50 gallon drums. Having a tractor makes moving heavy stuff a lot easier.

ETA: I almost forgot that I used it to pull the Windstream guy's truck out of the ditch too.

I needed some rock and it was too wet for Mr Dump Truck to get there...

Back to my old method... 2 old bed liners and my trailer.  Use a chain to drag each liner off the trailer.

5600#  I had to shovel about a bit out of the trailer to get it all unloaded.  I'll scoop some out, then drag the bedliner to where I want the rock and then dump it there.  Not nearly as good as a dump truck, but way better than shoveling it all by hand!

Love!

There's a guy running arounf town in a OBS Ford with a perkins in it. My buddy stopped to talk to him, and he said that motor has been in like 5 trucks over the years.

I though about swapping one in my F350 at some point, but have decided to go with a 12V Cummins (6bt) or a IH DT360.
